It’s always a goal of mine to get at least one Sunday prep task done each week! Typically something outside of my ordinary prep that will be beneficial to get done ahead of time or that’s been on my to-do list. This week’s Sunday prep: new activity schedules ✅
These are my absolute FAVORITE icons for activity schedules-the best visuals with lots of variety in the icons & multiple size for individual, group, or class schedules!
Thanks @simplyspecialed ! 🙌

All praise to the most highest.. So compassionate and bountiful! My heart is so full. Started interning in August at an ABA Clinic and quickly got hired in September. God knows I’m beyond grateful. I’ve been to some dark places throughout these years but he kept me! For that I’ve learned to be submissive to change and LIVE LIFE with no regrets. I have so much up my sleeves just being patient that God will let it unfold in due time. #BlackExcellence#Lionup#Degreed#Autismteacher#ItsGOtime
“I’ll never teach, and I’ll never go to grad school.” And then God laughed. Because He knew better. And I’m so glad He does. Yesterday marked the completion of my Masters of Special Education - Severe Disabilities 🖤. The most difficult 2 years of my life ... but also the most rewarding. Special thanks to my loved ones who cheered me on every step of the way, especially during those 57372622x I wanted to drop out altogether 😂. IT’S DONE!
This teacher right here had a rough week but I won't let that break me.. I fought for what is best for my students and haven't quite finished the battle.. I have questioned my ability to feel like I can share about my class numbers (if you watched my stories you know) and I know that most people say IG is a highlight reel and even though this picture is of me smiling I am inside fighting everyday for my students and my classroom to advocate and build awareness. I feel like everyday I am trying to prove to people that my job is valid and worth it.. I know it is but get tired of having to break that stereotype constantly. So this is the picture of a tired teacher that knows that she is making a difference in lives in her classroom and out and prooving everyday that the impossible actually means "I'm possible". #autismadvocate#specialneedsadvocate#mystudentsarethebest#rsgcommunity
Still think you can’t workout for 20-25 min??? I bet you’ve already spent 20 min on your phone today.🤔 ... I may have tomato face right now, and I may have just sweat out all the wine from last night. 🤦🏼♀️ but it’s crazy how a quick workout can set the tone for the whole weekend.
Saturdays for me used to be spent being hungover, laying on the couch all day, eating greasy food. I was wasting away my entire weekend and destroying my body. Now here I am, 36, and feeling healthier than I did in my 20s.💪🏼
Need a classroom job for your higher ability level students?! 💻 TECH SUPPORT! • Y’all, I’ll be honest. Students have QUICK fingers and know more than we do when it comes to tech... or at least they sure know how to find apps you’ve tried to hide (like the camera on the iPad🤣). • This idea from Aris at @sailingintosecond is a genius way to give students ownership over their classroom job AND help their classmates 👯♂️👩💻👨💻. • Follow Aris for more great teaching ideas!
The winter Cold going around my class finally caught me 😩 of course when we have planning and decorating and cleaning planned for this weekend. But I guess that is just the universes way of telling me to get some rest! Happy Saturday teacher friends! Get some well deserved rest today!

Cursive writing has perhaps become neglected in schools. While this may be true, evidence has revealed that handwriting has increased a child’s ability to process information rapidly as oppose to typing.
Benefits: 🎹Similar to what you get when playing a musical instrument 🖊Sign their own name to identify themselves 📖Read words written in cursive 📝Rate of word writing 💭Ideas expressed
This little guy loves writing anyway and taught himself how to write in cursive (via YouTube). We are brushing up on our 3rd grade sight words (this week) and he “PREFERRED” to write them in cursive while spelling and sounding out each word. 💙Make sure to tap into their interests to achieve learning 💙
