Anyone struggling with Christmas....it’s Hollies Christmas party tomorrow and I tried my hardest and succeeded in getting her something gorgeous but comfy to wear ...tried it on her last night and she screamed the place down ...think she will be going in school uniform...to see a child so sad at Christmas because of change in routine is breaking my heart 💔 #littlethings#autism#christmas#asd#autismawareness#sensoryprocessingdisorder#autismmom 🧩
Pre-empting works wonders for Aqil.
Since the trip was planned mths in advance, we hv been pre-empting Aqil abt it.
Our main concern was the flights coz there was a transit at KLIA.
Travelling SIN-KLIA-LKW was a smooth one.
There was in-flight entertainment.
We were even amazed when Aqil was actually ok with the cable car ride - he was sitting quietly throughout the up & down rides.
And when we did the island-hopping activities - Aqil was participating as well. 😘
One advantage was that there were his young cousins too.
Hence, we believed that somewhat helped in getting him to do the stuffs together with us. 😉
Yes, everything was smooth sailing until the very last day when we boarded the plane.
There was no in-flight entertainment! 😬
Managed to psyched Aqil during the first flight.
However, when he realised we were not in SG yet upon arriving at KLIA...that was it.
He hit the plane window!
Luckily it didn't crack!
And he was kicking the wall while we waited for the rest.
Then he ran off when we reprimanded him.
Ariq & Arisya had to run after him. 😬
When we were at the Msia customs counter in KLIA, Aqil shouted "I wanna call 911!" & knocked over one of the signs on the counter!
But he immediately apologised "Sorry!" when the sign dropped off the counter.
I quickly apologised to the customs officer.
I believed an hr in flight doing nothing hit Aqil hard.
He was ok when we waited for nxt flight coz he got to watch YouTube on my hp.
Upon boarding the flight to SG, we could only توكلت على الله when again there was no in-flight entertainment.
Talked to Aqil abt it & told him that it will be a short flight & we wld be in SG nxt.
Prayed hard that he wouldn't act up during the flight.
Our prayers was answered.
Thank you الله ❤️
THE ONE WHERE SWEEP PLAYS HIDE AND SEEK. If you follow my feed to any degree you’ll know that Sweep plays a big role in encouraging Little Bear to follow commands. Generally he doesn’t like being told what to do…unless Sweep tells him.
Little Bear insisted Sweep came to our photo shoot @clumberparknt last weekend. He’s not a great fan of having his picture taken but he forgot about the lens for a few minutes when Sweep played hide and seek in the woods, enabling @clarecolemanphotography to take some lovely pictures among the trees.
“My elder brother Gaurav is the most important person in my life. He is a special child.
One of the biggest blessings God has given us is the love and laughter of special children. They have only pure love for those around them. Their affection is non pretentious. In that sense they are the most authentic of all humans.
Spending time at Shraddha reminded me of how much there is to learn from God’s own special children.” - @mihirj shares from his experience at Shraddha - a home for autistic and differently abled young adults.
Kinesthetic learners have difficulty learning steps and procedures. Break down the task into small manageable steps so the child can easily take a task from start to finish. If your child has a hard time cleaning their room, you can break it down into steps and a final goal. The final goal can be a completely clean room. Then, work with your child and create steps on how this can be accomplished. Step one may be picking up all their clothes off the floor. Step two may require them to put all of their toys away. Step three could be making their bed. By having steps, the child knows what the end goal is, but they are able to go step by step to accomplish the goal without being distracted or overwhelmed.
