Bit different to usual but this isn’t just a page about animals that need conserving, it’s also a way of me reaching out to other like minded people and seeing how they became an animal lover and that’s the subject of this post... Who was your biggest inspiration?
I have 3 major influences on my interest in animals, 2 famous and 1 has a personal connection. The first of the three is Sir David Attenborough; the god of animal conservation to me. He is to me the embodiment of what a true animal lover is, his entire life devoted to the education on animals and I strive to be just like him. He educated me more than any lecturer could ever do. I first remember watching him with my mum and being in awe of everything he knew and the fact that he got to be so close with these animals; he truly is an awe inspiring man.
Secondly, the crocodile hunter Steve Irwin. This man was crazy and borderline insane BUT he was also one of the most dedicated people to animal conservation to have ever walked the earth. He put you on the edge of your seat and suspended you there whilst he wrestled a 10foot croc or he handled a venomous snake that he knew could kill him. He was what I think all animal conservationists strive to be; fearless in the face of danger and willing to do everything in his power to save and protect animals. The world is a worse place without him in it.
Finally the last person to inspire me is my Great Uncle Ernie. He was not a conservationist, he was not famous for protecting animals, he just cared enough to learn about them. He taught me everything I know about the British wildlife and when I used to visit him he would sit me down and tell me all the stories of his youth. Even from a young age he cared about what I believed and what I knew and he has always supported me and told me I can do great things for animals. It’s sad for me to think of a world without my biggest inspiration. This is what motivates me the most, Making Ernie of me.
So yeah they’re 3 of my inspirations but there’s many more.
Thank you for reading and hopefully someone responds with their biggest inspiration, C
Lovelies, July 24 will be my 20th birthday. I’m excited for this wonderful day but the greatest gift of all would be celebrating with YOU. Join me at #AustraliaZoo this Tuesday. I’ll be feeding the crocs in the Crocoseum with my family and all kids will receive free entry to the zoo for lots of wildlife fun. Hugs xx
