It doesn’t matter how good or how bad your situation it is right now sooner or later it will change.
If I am having a bad day and I catch myself complaining about things I stop the pattern and try to look my situation from another angle... if you are reading this right now chances are that you have more than 1/2 of the world. Here are some numbers from google so we can have a better picture.
Nearly 1/2 of the world's population — more than 3 billion people — live on less than $2.50 a day. More than 1.3 billion live in extreme poverty — less than $1.25 a day. 1 billion children worldwide are living in poverty. •
That instantly makes my brain shift from been angry and unhappy. It makes me to start to have a look around and begin to be thankful for all the things I have in my life.
Choose to be someone that always see the cup half full instead of half empty and life will be much more enjoyable.
Women are strong.
Women are smart.
Women are intelligent.
But the one thing we aren’t, is equal. We’ve always been seen as the weaker sex, unlike men who are the bread winners and the ‘leaders’. Women are on the same level as men - but we have been underestimated for centuries.
It’s a shame really, that in light of the recent topic of women’s rights and especially our right to feeling safe, there are many (not all, but many) men that seem to have an issue with this.
Women aren’t saying all men are rapists or predators. We aren’t saying all men are horrible. But what we are saying, is treat us as equal, value our safety and call out your friends when they say or act derogatory towards women.
It’s common sense & decency really, but apparently it’s not that common.
Growing up, a girl is taught ways to protect yourself like putting your keys between your fingers, calling someone on your way home, taking a photo of the taxi number...when really we should be teaching EVERYBODY, particularly boys, how to RESPECT one another and treat everybody equally. This isn’t a women’s issue. It’s simply an issue needs addressing so we can all make a change for the better. Start the conversation.
