This evening I completed #PWR week 15 leg workout. Today's session had a lot of body weight and resistance band exercises. It was the perfect combination of heart-healthy cardio plus muscle-building resistance training.

After this workout, we went out for a walk outside in the park.  The weather was great and we grabbed the opportunity to get some fresh air! #optoutside .

A really good piece of wisdom I gleaned from @gustavoapadron yesterday was that our value does not stem from our constant output. We don’t need to feel the crazy pressure of constantly producing and crushing goals to have worth.

Instead slow down and realize your worth is innate. You have worth and value by just being YOU. And YOU operate at different levels, sleep at different times, need different amounts of sleep, has a different personality type, has different strengths and weaknesses, and different growth opportunities.

So remember that even amidst the hustle and bustle you can still be YOU. It’s just gonna look different...and that’s ok. 😊

In life, in health, in business. How many times have you felt better about your week because you managed to cross off a bunch of tasks on your checklist? 🙋🏼‍♀️ I’m personally a culprit of compartmentalizing my tasks in the form of lists, and though I’d advocate it’s great for organization, it can also be to our detriment to value ourselves based on what we accomplish. You don’t have to do everything. Period.

Take time to reflect, set intentions, and direct your energy. Doing all the things can “seem” productive, but it’s wasted energy if it doesn’t align with the end goal.  And when we’re so busy and moving so fast, it’s hard to even figure out what that end goal is!
.
I’m practicing slowing down in all areas to get more in tune with what’s next. For physical health, that means stretching more, running a little less, and taking time to figure out the best balance of activity for reaching the next goal. And in life, it’s having constant gratitude and taking time to relax and enjoy the little moments, cause what’s the point of moving fast if we’re not enjoying the ride? ✨

Toe Grab Squats are a great movement prep and post-WOD, but here’s a great way to incorporate your thoracic spine mobility.
▫️
🦇 Inhale your hands to your hips. As you exhale, hinge from the pelvis and grab your toes to sit low. #AssToGrass
🦇 In your deep squat, bring one hand out to the side and use your inhale to lift the opposite arm up, twisting from the thoracic spine. You can use the connection between your tricep and inner thigh to help you find the twist. Exhale your arm down and switch sides.
🦇 Inhale to grab your toes once more and lift your butt to the ceiling. Exhale to release your toes, round the spine and slowly come to stand.
🦇 Move slow and controlled, using your breath as a guide.

I honestly had no idea the kind of change [RE]NEW was going to inspire. When I created this I thought it was a little 4-week jumpstart to give you that kick in the pants to eat a little better, drop some bad habits, etc.

I had no idea the fundamental shifts and perspective changes it was inspiring.

I think that's because I didn't even realize the shifts and changes that had happened in myself. I do see it all so differently now. And I guess it's been so long that that old way (of dieting, calories, low fat, portion control, all that...) was out of my rearview, and I think I forgot it was once even there.

So when I hear things like this, I'm blown away. And I remember, "oh ya, I used to read all the articles (8 Minute Abs), buy the 100 calorie packs, order boring, sad salads, and then come home and eat a sleeve of thin mints..." It all comes flooding back.

To know I've helped someone else put all that in their own rearview and do it so much faster and easier than I did.... well, that's just the best. It's crazy how it can be even sweeter than doing it for myself.
