He: Shubho Bijoya!
She: I love it when you say it like this with Rasogolla!
He: Spoken like a true Bengali!
(Today marks the last day of the festival of Durga Puja in Hindu culture. Bijoya dashmi is an auspicious day for all Hindus, especially people from the Bengal region and is celebrated with best wishes for each other and a spongy, sugar syrup soaked dessert called Rasogolla. Shubho Bijoya, everyone!)
HAPPY VIDYARAMBHAM EVERYONE!
May you be able to start or re-start a skill you wanted to try out or sustain!
I have always been going to my Music and Dance schools on this day every year, even if I did not continue the weekly lessons because of college and all that. And the atmosphere at these places on this day is just beyond words. The kind of positive energy you feel there is incomparable. With dozens of students repeating the steps from the very beginning, as a remainder of the start. Because, this day unlike any other day is considered an auspicious day to start a new skill. At my Music class, it felt soo good to start with the Sa-Re-Ga-Ma-Pa and go on to sing the magical keerthanam of GajanaNayutham Ganeshwaram! Aaaahh.. those memories still feels so bittersweet.
As I spent my very first Vidyarambham away from home, I strive to try and recreate the feel from back home, in our small, humble home, between the two of us. .
What's your most favourite thing about today??
Mine's the yummy Chundal(Channa special) which I usually receive from everywhere on this day! Hence I made it for myself as I couldn't bear the craving. 😉😀 .

Got a Lil carried away with the Kumkum and Chandanam but hey today is all about the rituals and I personally feel very connected to the celebration of Vijayadasami 😊
Vidhya -aarambham - The beginning of all good things. Education, arts, career, sport or any new beginning is often associated with this auspicious day and I get nostalgic when I think about all the wonderful teachers I have been associated with through the various stages of my life and all the different ways in which I have celebrated this beginning.
Here's to hoping and praying that my journey of self discovery and learning never stops ❤
