🔁 @smoov_sauze: “17years ago… 🗞️During the month of July 2001, my partners and I, was so proud to be, the first Hip-Hop/R&B Magazine that released in France a cover with: Aaliyah to promote her 3rd Album. And for good reason, because the French market did not believe in R&B Music. And even though Dana Haughton's career had reached the top of the R&B charts in the world during this summer 2001, our indie bi-monthly magazine was the only one to believe how powerful would be a cover with Her. So as we knew, this new issue sold like hotcakes, to the point that the 25,000 copies were sold out by mid-August. But on the other hand, what we did not know was that a few weeks later, our princess would die in a plane crash, just like Otis Redding or Ritchie Valens (La Bamba) did before. I still remember this August 25th, when I heard this tragic news, I was shattered and I could not believe it.
The question is, is this type of tragedy necessary to make an artist eternal as a legend, even several decades after?
