Day 12: Tuesday, Aug 14th
The daunting (insert irony) Hope Pass; 9275 feet at camp to 12533 feet at the top of the pass, which was 3200+ feet over ~4.5 miles. I left camp at 645 and stared up, facing the day with a smile, a challenge, a beautiful sunrise. This was me officially beginning the last stretch of my journey - no more town stops or planning or logistics; my days had been calculated, my pack filled with food to get me to the end, and my spirit recharged with determination and strength, the will to tackle the last 75 miles. It surely wouldn't be “all downhill from here.” I knew I still faced a tough stretch of miles. But those 75 miles, 4 days, and many mountains were what was between me and my finish line. I reached that glorious pass at 905am.
Time passes differently for me when I'm climbing up the side of a mountain. It's not painless or easy and will not afford easy breathing. But what does get easier is the ability to separate yourself from your body, ignore the burning in your muscles and your lungs, and hike the shit out of that mountain. I can't express the amount of joy I felt, how thankful I was to be able to feel all of the pain, the discomfort, the breathlessness. Because that meant that I had legs to carry me up, feet to hold me up, and lungs that begged for air and I don't know anything else that would make me feel so goddamned alive as that does.
Alive. This day I was alive, so surely present, and so damn thankful for the battles that brought me here.

Also, love is when your husband lets you paint your front door pink 😉💗
I wanted to share a quick video of how easy it is to use the @AugustHomeInc app to unlock my door. Its so nice to know that I don’t have to have my key to get into my house! 🙌🏻⠀
At our last home, I locked myself out a few times. Once I even climbed a tree to get into our home via the balcony door- lol 😂! Have you ever locked yourself out of your house?⠀🤔

🌻Seize the weather and get the most out of it!! Welcome September! Good bye August. Living in Toronto for more than 14 years now has not been an easy road, overall all after coming from warm places such as Los Angeles and Mexico City. However, and although I always try to find ways to get the best out of each season, Summer is by far my favorite one.
Summer is my healing time, my inspirational season, my glowing days, my rejuvenating period, my healthiest epoch. I make every single sunny hot day count and I try not to waste it without letting the early sunlight touch my skin.
Exercising, dancing, practicing a sport, connecting with others, reading, writing, 80/20 eating clean and indulging in my favorite treats, taking care of my skin and hair, working on my personal development goals are some of my ways to make the best out of my summer and to help myself feel more vibrant, healthy, positive, enthusiastic, joyful, and peaceful. 🌻September promises more sunny warm days and marks the beginning of another magnificent colorful season, Fall.
P.S. what are your plans to get the best out of the last sunny warms days of this Summer?
