Meal prep day !!! That means routine is coming back slowly but surely... I do like a routine but also I don’t attach to it anymore, if it comes let it come, if it goes let it go... but for now here I have meal prepped for a couple of dinners and lunches. Roasted veggies, tempeh marinated with garlic, ginger, coconut aminos, lemon zest/juice and back pepper. Zucchini lasagna, filling is butternut squash, mushrooms, onions and black beans. Salmon for tonight and 2 fillets extra for tacos. I cut up some veggies for snacking and made quinoa with brown rice. I hope this can help as a little inspo. Today, I went to my first spin class EVER. @rideindoorcycling was AWESOME and your first ride is FREE!
I have missed running and riding my bike since I broke my foot in February (I wasn’t the best patient, so it took awhile to heal) and thought this was the perfect way to ease back into some cardio besides my yoga. I loved how @texascaprice weaved in cardio, spinning, weights, breathing, movement, inspiration and yes...even some YOGA! Thanks for the support. We all need the YIN & YANG of movement in our life and my body was craving more!

Say hello to your TVA. Your Transverse abdominis that is! 🙌 Often when we work our “core” we overly focus on our “6-pack” muscles (rectus abdominis), but the TVA is one of the primary stabilizer muscles in the body and the secret to true functional strength and mobility. When the TVA is weak, other muscles like the low back are recruited to do the work which can lead to strain & pain. A strong TVA is also a vital component in most arm balances and inversions. 🔸 The Lsit is a great way to focus on strengthening the TVA. 🔸Practice holding an Lsit for 10-30 seconds, lifting your hips as high as you can, floating/pointing the toes, straightening the legs. Start with hands on blocks, then ditch them as you begin to lift higher. Over time you’ll build crazy strength and begin to float through your practice like a weightless ninja 💪😊🙌✨

Calm before the storm, sure. But what about calm ✨during✨ the storm? Where does your mind go when the going gets rough? This principle is something I have learned to be mindful of in my yoga practice and weave into my everyday, off-the-mat, life. When you hold a challenging pose for what feels like forever, does your mind begin to wander? - "I should wipe this drip of sweat from my forehead" or "What does the person next to me look like right now?" OR, do you embrace the presence, accept the pose, and focus your attention on your breath? Maybe, you close your eyes and feel your deep inhale fill your lungs and allow your chest to open further... This small mindfulness trick is helpful to use in everyday life as well. When something is triggering for you (an annoyance, challenge, bothering situation, etc.), do you remain calm and notice the feelings and possibly sensations that come up in your body? Or, do you get caught up in the feelings and react? Yoga has helped me in this regard SO much. By no means am I anywhere near perfect, but it's something that I am incredibly passionate about and feel called to share with others. 13 aug - 1) saw dinosaur on mile 2 of 3.5 mile run. 2) stopped and named dinosaur little Jesse. 3) did quick super banana handstand by dinosaur. 4) kept running. 😂🦖 swipe left for today’s real handstand practice, practicing squeezing the legs together (thusly compromising hold time for now until I get stronger) ✌🏼😘

Joining in on a new challenge #midsummerstretch and trying to make sense of this new energy around me. Today’s pose is #puppypose and I chose a bound lotus variation because I need to open my hips and shoulders from so much rock climbing this weekend. Feeling strong today so I’m riding that wave and getting errands done, preparing for my work-ation to Port Aransas this week, hitting the gym, setting goals, and listening to my guides. •

In life, timing is everything. Trusting I’m where I’m suppose to be in life has always been a struggle. I usually realize after the fact that whatever I’m going through, is exactly what I need. Been there? I am slowly learning to thank my struggles in the midst of them but I still find myself saying things like...if only I knew then, what I know now. You too? If we really think about it we do, it’s more about being present in the moment and letting ourselves grow and adapt as life does. I get it, I’m human too and we all have our defaults. But I also believe in cultivating self awareness to the point we have the ability to find grace in beginning again and again, no matter what life throws at us.
