Pumped to be working this!!!!! Anywhere II is the second full length release from musical entity Anywhere, following their 2012 self-titled release on #ATPRecordings The sound began with two friends Christian Eric Beaulieu and Cedric Bixler Zavala ( #themarsvolta ) digging into open tuning and hybrid ragas with punk energy. The project evolved into an expansive, bizarrely curated cavalcade of A-list psychedelic exhibitionists from all parts California, and a few world famous musicians playing non-famous instruments, all arranged and overseen by a mostly unknown, humble guitar playing surfer dude. #anywhere#recordstoreday#music#vinyl#art
And We will continue to pour love into their music.

Sleepy Sun - Embrace. 🌗This record is one of those that I always forget that I own until I skim passed it on the shelf. Released on ATP Recordings in June 2009 as their first full length. Heady psych driven rock with elements similar to Black Angels and Black Mountain. This is the only album of theirs I own, for reasons unknown. Sometimes it takes just one album for me to enjoy a band, I don't tend to follow bands by members or trend. As we all have experienced many bands can take in new forms and interests with the direction of their music. This is always a good thing but I am an album guy more than fan of bands. This album is great from start to finish triggering the best elements in psych rock. #sleepysun#atprecordings#vinyl#vinyljunkie#lp#33rpm
Feliz semana compadres!

Day 2: Best Record Store Score
The Drones - Gala Mill (2006)
This was really only a good score in hindsight. I found it in the racks in Rockinghorse Records in the few months before Havilah came out, which I guess was the record that really boosted them into the public awareness. You don't see too many copies around and it changes hands for absolutely stupid sums of money these days, so I'm happy to have picked it up for retail price back then.
Not too many fun-time summer jams on this one I'm afraid, in fact it's about as bleak as a record can get. Recorded in rural Tasmania (literally at an old mill), it's bookended by two of their most enduring songs (Jezebel and Sixteen Straws) and in-between it travels to some unsettling places, weaving together stories of cannibalism, convicts and cancer. The three C's. It's a quintessentially Australian album, rich with the dark horrors of our nation's violent colonial mythology. You couldn't imagine it coming from anywhere else in the world.
