A little over a month ago, I embarked on a new program that focused more on changing my mindset around nutrition compared to following just a portion controlled eating plan and exercise program.
I’m happy to say that this kid is finally back to my pre #totalkneereplacement weight and I am excited to keep pushing myself to reach for my goals.
Now that I’ve completed the program (and can actually use it as a resource at any time), I’m taking what I learned and am combing it with daily on demand workouts and mindful eating.
I’m not 💯 perfect with my nutrition... let’s be honest it’s difficult in the summer with BBQs and refreshing drinks... but, I am being so much more aware of what I am eating and how I am eating and I’m pleased with the results.

I brought it back to the first program that I ever did, and it made me emotional and joyful (did you see my live video earlier? 😆) Emotional because I remember how I felt then. Joyful because of how far I’ve come.
I was a beginner, I was unhealthy, and this program inspired me to start! I danced my heart out for 30 days and lost my first 10 lbs!! You don’t have to start great, but you have to start to be great. Don’t let being a beginner stop you for going after your goals. Loving these baby avocados!! 🥑🥑 They are perfect for throwing on a salad, a sandwich, or mashing up for my little guy.😊 While avocados are packed full of nutrients, they are also high in calories so sometimes the regular sized ones are too much. Plus, I’ve had to throw away halves of ones I saved cause they went bad quickly. 😞 These are a great option to avoid all that! I had my own little sweat-cleaner. .
Every time that I dripped on the floor (which was many many times) he was right by my side mopping up after me. It made it an extra fun little challenge to see how much I could sweat!
Today was “recovery” day for our program, which means no weight lifting but it doesn’t mean “rest” so I wanted to get an extra workout in before tomorrow’s week 1 weigh in. .
I went back to my fave @shaunt and loved every second. .
Also had an incredible dinner with veggies straight from our garden!

“Okay cool so you’re back to eating salads?” HA. NOPE. 🙅🏻♀️🙅🏻♀️ See that pizza I’m eating right there? I totally fit that into my meal plan Friday night with 0% guilt. Simply being conscious of what I’m eating.. and eating the right things 6 days out of the week.. THATS how I lost the 8 pounds of shitty carbs I was holding onto 😂
Now excuse me while I go take advantage of this ALLOWED cheat day and indulge in some delicious Chinese food for dinner 🥡🥠

Getting a check-up from Dr. Marshall 🐶 to make sure there’s still signs of life after today’s run. It’s questionable 🤷🏻♀️ but he told me I rocked this week with my workouts. 👊🏼 Now I’ve been prescribed four hours of puggle snuggles. I take doctors orders very seriously. 😏

Took steps this week to help adjust to my new work schedule. Let myself sleep in a few mornings, did some lighter workouts, and took it easier. ▫️
Prior to making the decision to do that for myself, I was feeling down about the idea- I set goals, I need to keep them! I have a calendar! But an 80 day program spanning over 3+ months doesn't necessarily account for life happening in between. And honestly - NO ONE CARES! I'm not saying "wah no one cares about me" I'm saying that no one even knows what my original calendar looked like, so why would anyone care! ▫️
There is a difference between an excuse and a reason. And that's for you to decide- but I had a reason (new job, new commute, new schedule) and I needed time to balance myself out a bit. ▫️
Back to my workout plan tomorrow morning feeling recharged and reset! ▫️

As teachers, most of us don't put ourselves first. We do everything for our kids. I found after my first year of teaching, I needed to take care of ME. I started setting aside 30 minutes after work for me to workout at home. I also decided that fueling on whatever was in the teacher's room wasn't helping my energy levels.
I slept better, had more energy, and felt so much healthier by setting aside just a half an hour to workout every day after work!

Sometimes I feel like I have a charmed 💎 life. I’ve got 4 healthy, happy sons, and a husband who is my very best friend, supporter, and a loving, dedicated father. 💙 That’s not to say our lives are perfect, and trouble-free, but I do believe life is all about choices. Our small day to day choices determine our future to some degree. I knew my husband was a good-hearted man from the moment we started dating.💙 I also knew I didn’t want him to get away. In fact, he was moving more slowly than I liked, and I gave him an ultimatum where he had one week to ask for my hand in marriage. 🍀 Lucky for me he did. 🍀 Who knows what our future holds, but I’m so happy it’ll be with him next to my side. 😃 #21andaHalfYearsTogether
This is my favorite workout pic so far in 80DO!!!!! Because when I did the first round, I could not do tricep pushbacks in plank without being on my knees. My upper body just was not strong enough . I may have had a busy weekend, but that didn’t stop me getting a workout in this morning!... I didn’t have a lot of time so I did 4 x Supersets with some dumbells at home!...
1. Chest press x 12 & wide rows x 12... 2. Bicep curls x 12 & overhead tricep extensions x 12
3. Overhead squats x 12 & reverse lunges x 12 each leg
4. Weighted sit ups x 12 & leg raise crunches x 12.
Repeat each superset 3 times before moving on & finish with a plank for as long as you can hold it 👌💪🏻
