It’s something I was short on for honestly most of my life. As a kid I always felt uncomfortable in my skin and as I grew up it just got worse. Fast forward to adulthood. What the heck IS confidence?🤔

Well, over the past few years I have had to learn how to be confident🤷🏼‍♀️
.
What makes it easier for me is taking care of not just my body, but my mind♥️
.
I do that by working out, eating right and saying my positive affirmations every single day✨
.
But lately I have been feeling so much confidence and I always feel weird sharing about “I feel damn good!” But I need to, cuz it’s just so true🤷🏼‍♀️♥️
.
Sometimes I look back at my pictures I took after my workout and think “who’s body is this?!” “Who AM I?!” “Is this really me?!”☺️
.
And that’s the real truth. How am I HERE?!
.
How is it that taking a chance on this “different” thing gave me SO much?! (A community of amazing friends, and a forever changed life for not just myself but for my entire family)
.
How is it that today I can say I am happy, excited and in love with the skin I am in?😭♥️
.
I’m crying happy tears as I write this...
.
How is it that I always wanted to be healthy, but now that I am crushing goals and thrilled with my progress...that I can’t believe it?
.
That I feel like someone needs to pinch me and bring me back to reality?😂
.
But this IS my reality😱
.
I workout for 30-40mins daily right from home, follow simple and yummy meal plans, drink a DELISH shake everyday and get to share this with my friends. Every. Single. Day.☺️
.
PINCH ME.😅

I get to change my friends lives all around me, by sharing how I changed MY OWN.🤩

Blessed and thankful doesn’t even begin to explain it!😭♥️

All the struggles, the sweat, the tears, the smiles, the downfalls and mountains CLIMBED are worth it♥️

“Sometimes “balance” isn’t about pulling back, it’s about pushing harder.” - this was the jist of the quote even if I didn’t fully get it right lol

Balance is talked about A LOT these days on social media. Often it is associated with relaxing, loosening up, eating more and doing less- exactly the opposite of what fitness social media promoted in years past.

~3 years ago when I was working out 7 days a week and trying to strictly eat 1400 calories for no apparent reason, balance meant loosening up. Balance meant healing my relationship with food and not being so hard on myself. Through the past couple of years I have accomplished that.
.
Today, with a crazy schedule, balance is pushing a little bit harder- it’s getting up early to go to the gym before class 3 days a week and fitting in an at-home workout 1 day a week. Its leaving enough time for sleeping and school work. It’s meal prepping at the beginning of the week so I don’t have to turn to fast food. It’s not buying so many fliiiiiiipping Starbucks holiday drinks... we’re working on it ok? 🤦‍♀️😂.
So today I dragged myself to the depths of my cold dark basement, put Imagine Dragons on the speaker, and did a full body workout. Despite my desire to sit and watch Christmas movies all day and avoid all responsibility.

Made a big batch of one of my favorite instant pot meals— unstuffed cabbage rolls! 
1 lb of Ground turkey 
Bell pepper color of choice 
1 head of cabbage 
Minced garlic 
2 cans diced tomato no salt added 
3 cups low sodium chicken broth 
Salt, pepper, paprika, oregano, small dash of red pepper

1️⃣ Guilt-free, balanced enjoyment to treat myself if I want. If I want a bag of Takis or a pint of cashew milk ice cream, I’m going to have it. I’m not looking to restrict myself! 🙅🏼‍♀️ 2️⃣ Eating mostly whole foods, consuming a variety of macro and micro nutrients. I try to eat the rainbow everyday. It’s all about balance! 🌈 
3️⃣ Giving my body the movement it needs 5 times a week. Instead of looking at exercise as a punishment, I view it as a reward. If you want to live a long healthy life, you need to move your body. Working out is also my therapy time. 💆🏼‍♀️

What a crazy long few days it’s been! Friday night contractions got super intense/strong- I couldn’t sleep through them so they ended up giving me fentanyl for pain. I was able to sleep after that🙌🏽!⁣

Let’s see how long this lasts🤞🏽! Doctor told me first sign of consistent contractions or if my water breaks to get down to the hospital ASAP! When he checked me he could feel baby A’s feet 🦶🏽! He also told me to rest as much as I can.⁣

There is nothing easy about starting over.  Square 1.  Looking back on all of the weight you’ve gained after working SO hard to lose it. 
And here I am!  Square 1.  I’m excited to have a better body than before, a strong body with a healthy mind.

My best tip for the holiday week: eat on your meal plan all week except the holiday meals with families. I already know who is serving what and which foods I am going to splurge on for Thanksgiving with both of our families. I will also make sure I eat light and fill up on my superfoods + cleaner veggies earlier in the day. Just because I plan on enjoying all the foods at the end of the week, doesn’t mean I should give up until then. It won’t become a spiral if I eat everything I should until then and immediately after.

Anyone else love ham, green beans, and potatoes cooked in chicken broth in the crockpot? Except for the high sodium content in ham, this meal is 100% on plan and I’ll be enjoying it for dinner tonight and lunches this week.

BTW >> What in the world is this meal considered?? A soup? A stew? Just a meal? Devin calls it soup and I beg to differ.

I’m down about 25 pounds. I’ve lost about 6 inches from my waist and 5 from my chest. I’ve done this in less than 6 months and I am PROUD. Today so far has been a lot of reflection... .

Reflection on the past week where I committed to a major change for personal growth and development - I accepted a position in the Cardiovascular OR where my role as a nurse is totally redefined. In the past this level of change would scare me so much so that I may not even make the change; however, over the past year I have grown a lot and this is what's right for me right now. .

As I was working out this morning I was listening to a Podcast about other people's opinions and how they can be debilitating. This is true for me, I have let other people's opinions hinder my own progress and it had me reflecting on what I would like to look like in the future. That's a Katelyn that is strong enough to not GAF about what other think of me. Their opinion of me is not one that defines me - this is an area I want to focus on as I move forward, what others think of me should not direct how I live my life and what decisions I make. In a way this message was carried on in the sermon and theme of church today as we talked about harvesting what it is we sow (what we "plant" and put out in society by how we live and love in our daily lives is what we can expect to come back to us, it's our "harvest"). .

As we head into this week of Thanksgiving, what is it that you want to plant so you can harvest it in the future? Is it now that you squash those fears and invest in yourself with a change that's been scaring you? I am here to tell you that you CAN do it, in fact, let's do it together! Life is easier (and more fun) when you tackle life's challenges with a companion at your side!

Last night my husband had a team dinner with his soccer team. We got to semi dress up and go out to eat which is a rare, rare occurrence in our house! 😂 #momlife .
My booties with the heels were dusty 😳Probably been a year since I have strutted those dang things. 👠 I have never had this much muscle mass and this is definitely the lowest body fat percentage I have experienced in my adult life.  I realized I haven't actually dressed up my hard earned mom bod yet. It was a proud moment to feel good in my clothes! 😍💪🏼👍🏼 I also ate an INSANE amount of pizza! #yolo 😏.

Have you ever wanted something different for your life?

I have, and it began in June 2013! I had my 1st child, and I wanted to get back into shape. My mom ordered Insanity and allowed me to borrow it after she finished it. That’s when it began! I looked into coaching then, but told myself I didn’t know enough people or I wasn’t inspirational or many other excuses!

Now that I have had my second child it’s been hard to get out of the house, so getting out and getting a babysitter just for work alone is rough/enough! With going back to work and having such a little one I have been doing my workouts at home, and it’s better for my family.

I have since realized I want to be home more, and as a coach I can be home with my kiddos while also helping others along their fitness journey!!! I know it sounds a little cliché, but if you know me you know how much I enjoy/love a healthy lifestyle!!! Here’s to a better me and everyone else that wants to be a part of this journey!

Success Sunday In full effect! I enjoyed a nice sermon this morning along with breakfast with my baby girl. Then I got to work with a new workout I never tried that in my on-demand library. I had so much fun and broke a sweat. I’m ready to tackle whatever comes my way today and I’ll do it with a smile. 
I am Faith and Fitness and chose to be fearless! 👇🏼 We could choose faith or we could use for fear. Fear is a liar and it’s never going to feed our full potential. The only thing fear does is prolong the blessings God has waiting for us. Why do we continuously throughout her life’s, even when we know the truth give up and allow that worry and doubt to creep back in town when we know we are sons and daughters of the most high God. Even if you’re not a follower of Jesus Christ, you have to believe in something. Faith is something we need everyday! You can’t have fear and have faith, it’s almost impossible. I was reminded this morning of how far I’ve came mentally and well physically. I was reminded that troubles and trials are going to come through our entire lives but if our minds aren’t fixed on truth we are going to continuously circle the same mountain over and over again. There’s a lot of people and a lot of things that are going to influence our mind. But we have to stand strong and know who we are and where we’re going. #faithfitness 
So I guess the question of the day is. Where do you want to go and what are you gonna do to get there? Most importantly are you believing in yourself and your capabilities? Because if you don’t believe you’ll never get there, and others won’t believe in you either. I have chosen to lead by example and I have chosen to be a great mother, friend, sibling, daughter, teacher, coach, and partner! I’ll live every day pulling out my greatness!

And I can’t help but think of so many of you that I’ve recently talked to about your journey to health and wellness. .

Think about how you feel now....
You may be nervous about the holidays coming up because..
-you have to dress up and your nice clothes don’t fit. -you have to be in tons of pictures and you don’t like how you look. -you will be surrounded by cookies, cake, treats, and tons of other foods that you can’t help yourself from having. -you can’t run around with your kids outside because your winter clothes won’t fit over you and your normal clothes. .
. ❤️I feel you. I’ve been there. I’ve had some of those same exact feelings and moments too. 
But know you don’t have to STAY there. Know that you can change today, right now!! Make the choice and stop being afraid of “what could be” or afraid of failing. Life will keep happening whether you do or don’t make the choice to change. .

Swapped out the two cable exercises for good ole dumbbells and plopped out the floor mats for the commandos and push ups. No bench to do your step-ups? No problem - I bet you’ve got a coffee table, chair, or maybe stairs. No dumbbells? Grab a bag of canned foods! You can always find an excuse to not work out, but the reality is there’s an alternative for everything. Off my soap box now and getting ready for round 1 of Thanksgiving 🦃 Happy Sunday Fam!

Really trying to practice this phrase in my everyday life while I drive, meditate, and exercise... I don’t know why it is so hard to let go of the past sometimes but we HAVE TO too move forward. 
We need to stop carrying around these weighted hearts, feelings, and anger because I bet you that person or circumstance we keep thinking about isn’t even phasing that other person... let’s stop giving them the power and give ourselves the power! 
It will take work, it will take practice but I know you can do it!

I did some low back moves and stretched everything out which felt great, I cleaned all the ceiling fans in the house and vacuumed, showered and now I’m doing laundry and getting some work done. Today was the day! Today was the day of the half marathon, but unfortunately got cancelled due to the bad air quality. 😢🙏Well my plans have changed and that’s ok!
I’ll probably be doing a lot of clean up mostly today because my bf and I are heading out of town for Thanksgiving in a couple days! 🦃 🥧 
I’ll also be getting my sweat on as well, I’ve been loving these at home workouts. Only 30min. a day and I’ve already noticed results in 8 days! I haven’t had a hard time getting to sleep lately, no bloating in the morning, and man am I full of energy these days! I can’t wait to show you my program results at the end of my 21days! 😬

You Can do anything you put your mind too so don't go giving that power over to the haters... You CAN reach your fitness goals, build a business, get that degree, survive that breakup, save enough money to go on that trip on your bucket list, get out of debt, or having another baby lol :) It takes ... HALF-ASSED efforts bring HALF-ASS results! And no one wants half an ass😂 BUT - in all seriousness....this past week I got honest with myself. I had been absolutely giving HALF my effort to my nutrition program - mainly in tracking in my journal. SO! I decided to change that this week - and wouldn’t ya know!!!!! I broke into the 120’s again for the first time since having Ella - now only 4lbs away from my prepregnancy weight. I have more energy! I feel happier and more confident and in control of my days. And who woulda guessed it - my relationship felt better and so did my job! ALL from giving more effort into tracking in a journal! ALL while having wine probably 4/7 nights and some homemade sweets too! I DO NOT DIET! BUT - I do believe in following a mindset around nutrition and food that makes me feel good, balanced, and happy!😊❤️ SHOUT OUT to all my babes learning #2bmindset with me! I would LOVE to hear about your progress so far👇🏼

My dad truly had one of the biggest hearts out of anyone I’ve ever met. He would drop anything just to help someone, even a complete stranger and I admired that so much about him. I miss him every single day and try my best to make him proud. Happy birthday dad, I love you 💜😊

Well first of all, I should hope so!! If I can't have a slice of my Mom's Apple Pie and a glass of 🍷 on Thanksgiving... Then count me out I'm not showing up!🏃‍♀️
We have to stop thinking of moving our bodies and making healthier food choices as a punishment. We should be celebrating everyday that we are blessed to be able to! It doesn't mean go out and run a marathon tomorrow. Be realistic in order to be successful! No one wants to start again only to fail by the second week in trying to change our habits. So many times lately I've heard... I can't do it. I can't work out 6 days a week! Firstly, yes you CAN! But I wouldn't ask you to or expect you to jump in where I am at after a year of change. We are all on our own journey and you need to run YOUR race at YOUR pace. Can you commit to 3o minutes 3 times a week and tweak some of the food choices you are making? Well then, there you go~ you are on your way to making new habits and changing your lifestyle.❤

For the first time ever, I decided to change slowly instead of having the unrealistic idea to drop 20 lbs and change everything about myself overnight. (Little secret... that doesn't work. 😉)
Making small changes daily and being consistent adds up. Slow and steady wins the race. This race is going to last a lifetime! ❤When you are ready to push the excuses aside and talk about how you can be successful and implement small changes to your lifestyle everyday~I am here for you!!
