The last two weeks have been far from usual. I am used to doing a program, always. It's been inconsistent as I practice class routines instead.
Although I have been active, these couple of weeks have definitely proven to me how these program workouts and calendars are designed for results.
That's why I'm ready to start a second round of the lifting program next Monday. In the meantime, I'll be focusing on nutrition & practice.

Today was another day of learning to be spontaneous. We had plans with my extended family, but some things came up & plans changed....which ALWAYS makes me feel uncomfortable & completely anxiety ridden.
I’ll admit, for a minute there, I felt like cancelling all our plans, curling up on the couch, & letting the anxiety win. But I decided just to roll with the punches & it actually turned out to be a pretty great Sunday Funday with the fam bam!🤗♥️
By the time we got home, I realized that I never got my workout in this morning! So I decided that even though it was 8pm, I was in a sugar coma, & I would rather snuggle up with the kiddos & watch a movie, I needed to just do the damn thing! 35 minutes later (due to pausing a few times🤷🏻♀️) my cardio workout was DONE!🙌🏻
You guys, I share this with you because day in & day out, my brain generates excuses & tries to rationalize why skipping the workout will be a GREAT idea. But in the end, pouring into your own cup is a CHOICE! You can either choose to continue the whole “I’ll start Monday” mantra (like the old Marlee used to do) or you can choose to say “I’m going to start filling my cup today!”
So which is it? One day or day one?🤷🏻♀️

Two years ago I was struggling to squeeze myself into my jeans. I was a busy working mom, 2 years post-partum and 20 lbs over my pre-baby weight.⠀
Our bodies are amazing. They create, grow and birth humans. They also respond to our self-talk and thoughts.⠀
I didn’t feel like myself (post-partum depression, colicky baby, no sleep, trying to adjust to being a mom) so I made unhealthy decisions (comfort food, fast food, alcohol).⠀
➡️Because I was gaining more weight I told myself it was impossible to lose the weight.⠀
➡️Because I told myself it was impossible I stopped trying.⠀
➡️Because I stopped trying I gained more weight.⠀
➡️➡️And so the cycle would go. Over and over. Does this sound familiar to you?⠀

If you remember, earlier this year I took on the biggest challenge of my health and fitness journey. I completed a 13 week program. I got amazing results although my nutrition was not 100% and I missed some workouts.
October 1st I will be taking on another program that’s 8 weeks long. With this program I will workout 4 days a week for 30-40 minutes. The meal plan is easy to follow and allows cheat days!

"Having a hard time mentally with thinking that doing these short workouts is all we need to do, shouldn't we be doing other things, too? Don't we need to work out for at least an hour to be skinner or leaner?" 🤔These were just a few of the thoughts we had in our heads when we started doing short HIIT style workouts 6 years ago.
Coming from girls who thought more was better, as we thought more exercise meant we would see results faster and have better results... but over time our bodies weren't changing. So we thought... okay guess we just need to increase our intensity - wrong.🤦♀️ You can't keep up a high-level intensity for very long. Back to long hours of moderate-intensity. Even though we were addicted to exercise years ago, as it was our life for so many years, we didn't enjoy it anymore. We realized how we were doing things wasn't a way to live.
We eventually started cutting back on how much we worked out. 💪🏼Instead of an hour or 2 on elliptical we did 2 short 12-minute #HIITworkouts and did #insanityprogram along with running. 🤭Our bodies, hormones and skin were STILL NOT happy. So then we finally cut back to doing a variety of short home workouts with more focus, intention and intensity. Success! 🤗We got our life and health back!
We know it can be scary to work out for just 15 minutes a day, but we want you to trust that when you focus on your INTENSITY, INTENTION, and having VARIETY in your exercises, it is plenty.

Maybe you knew that from my other posts, maybe you didn't read them, and that's cool. Maybe you won't read this one either. I won't be mad at ya!
My goal as a coach is to help others who have been where I was, physically, mentally and emotionally. Don't get me wrong, I'm still working on myself, and always will be.
Two days ago I had a complete meltdown. An all around meltdown about everything in my life. I'm not ashamed to say it, cause I know I'm not alone.
But this business has brought me a long way in a short time. I went out and danced till I was covered in sweat and had a fantastic time. Usually after a meltdown like that, I would hide out and be depressed for days. Not anymore. I don't play that now. I have ish to do.
I have goals to accomplish, a business to build. I want my dream life and lifestyle and I'm not afraid to say it. Neither should you, dammit.
I've heard people say, Ohh isn't beachbody an MLM (multilevel marketing) company? Isn't that like a pyramid scheme where people take advantage of everyone below them?
First, no... They aren't the same thing. One is actually illegal, but that's another post.
We are going to see what we want to see, I suppose. I see the goodness in this company. The way it's changed lives, including mine. The amazing people it's brought into my life, and I see possibilities of building my dream life.
Are there people at the top? Yes.
Are there people at the top in any company? Yes. The difference is I was working my butt off for those companies and getting nothing in return.
It was hard to get raises and I was always on someone else's schedule, building someone else's dream. A few months ago, I decided it was time to build mine and have a blast doing!

I’ve been thinking about this a lot this week. I’ve been feeling like my fitness goals and financial goals are JUST out of reach so tonight I took a look at what I am doing and what I am NOT doing that is going to get me there. .
If your goal is losing weight, are you moving more and eating less? Are you tracking everything? Yes, including that extra wine every other night with dinner (you know who you are 🙋🏻♀️) If your goal is paying off debt, are you tracking every cent you spend? Are you investing your time into something that is going to pay off? Are you an impulse shopper like me and keep telling yourself that it doesn’t add up? .
Is your goal to have a better outlook and mindset? Well then of course you’re feeding your mind and spirit every day with personal development, right?! I thought so.
We don’t reach our goals unless we have direction and we are actively working towards them with a STRUCTURED plan!!! We also don’t reach them until we START. Now is the time!

I know I’m not very used to getting recognized for my hard work at a traditional job. But this... this is different. Your hard work never goes unnoticed here. And you get rewarded for all of the lives that you have positively impacted.
Although it’s just a hat, I’m so proud of it because it means I’m not only helping other women improve their lives, I’m also following my dreams. (And killing it, if I may add!)

"Self care is not selfish, you can't pour from an empty cup". What have you done for YOU lately? I used to struggle with the concept of wanting time for myself, because that meant time away from my family. But the truth is, I am not at my best self for my family or anyone, if I don't intentionally make time to do something just for ME. Today, I took a nap, which was glorious, then worked out and cleaned. Nothing special, but it still helped me clear my head and get refreshed for the week ahead. It is HARD to balance everything and totally OKAY to do what you need to do (in a healthy manner) to take care of yourself. You will feel better and be better for yourself and those around you! It doesn't have to be anything fancy or expensive, it can be the simplest thing, but find what works for you and do it on a regular basis!
Promise me something...that you’ll take some time to go outside this week. Go for a hike, a walk, a run, or even a drive to see the leaves starting to change.
There is something about being in nature that is just good for your soul. Don’t you think? It can clear your mind & help you eliminate some stress.
It may not solve your problems, but i can promise you it will bring you some gratitude & happiness that can make them seem just a little bit more manageable. 🖤🌲🤟🏽 Happy Sunday Team! Xoxoxo

I met Kelly here on instagram! She had been watching my journey and after I invited her to join us (a few times), she decided in August that she was ready to commit to getting healthier and happier.
And then she went ALL IN - and MAN is she inspiring!!! Not just to me, but to the rest of our challengers, and even to her own family. She’s starting to feel more confident in her skin, she’s craving exercise, and I even feel like her smile has just gotten bigger.
She has had so much success and been so consistent with the support of our group that she cancelled her gym membership this past week! #byefelicia

I do this every once in a while, and it’s always a challenge to introduce myself for the first time to those that are new around here, while still sharing something unfamiliar with those who’ve known me for a while. I’m always up for a challenge, so here goes!
I’m a hard worker, though not to be confused with a work-aholic. I’ve always had multiple jobs at one time. Not necessarily because I needed them, but because without them I can get bored and/or feel unfulfilled pretty easily.
When I was growing up, I thought I was going to become a doctor. I’m not sure when I lost sight of that dream, but knowing God has been in control gives me peace that I somehow didn’t miss out on what “could have been”. I know that I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be at this moment in time.
I’m a high school math teacher in my 11th year of service. I love my job and I love mentoring high schoolers! I’m in grad school right now for Educational Leadership so that one day (soon) I can move up into administration.
When I’m not mentoring students, I’m a health and fitness coach (there’s that side hustle part of me!). Oh my gosh... y’all! This is THE BEST part time job I’ve ever had. The challenge and fulfillment I get is unmatched. The rewards are endless and I believe it compliments my teaching career PERFECTLY. I’m still teaching, just to a different audience. I will forever be grateful for stumbling across this “job” 4.5 years ago. God is so good!
A perfect day for me includes no plans, not because I’m a free spirit (I’m actually the exact opposite), but because I’m an introvert who needs solitude to recharge.
I can’t go more than a few days without sunshine. I’m solar powered and the warm sun on my face reminds me of God’s promises. It grounds me. And when it’s hiding behind rain clouds for days on end, I will seriously fall victim to seasonal affective disorder.
And just for fun... if I had to choose a single food to eat for the rest of my life WITHOUT consequences, it’d be candy corn. DO NOT JUDGE ME. It’s my downfall. I cannot say “no” if it’s in front of me. So this year, I’m not letting it in my house at all!

Shameless #selfiesunday to accompany my shameless weekend of splurgeful (yes, I just made that a word) dining! 😋 When I know my eating is going to be a bit more plentiful than usual, I do my best to squeeze in at least a quick workout each day. Bouts of exercise as short as 10 minutes have proven to offer health benefits, so I start out with 10 minutes as a minimal goal (that way, it’s not so daunting) then continue working out for as long as my schedule allows. The past couple days, that has been 30 mins or less. As long as we don’t abuse the saying “something is better than nothing”, then it really is true! 👍🏼💪🏼
I included 1 of the treats I enjoyed (in moderation) for those of you who think I never eat anything “bad”. 😝 One of the easiest ways to splurge within reason is to share your treats with someone else. Thanks for sharing my sweet tooth burden, @wrightsnaps12 😘 (and @csmith_23 + @dillywhopper 🤗)

I had an epiphany while my at home workout video was loading today. What good is the place you workout if you hate being there? I like working out at the gym but I LOVE working out at home...however my “workout room” turned into wedding supply he’ll. Not gonna lie my whole house turned into hell in the month leading up to the wedding 🤷🏼♀️ but a little tidying up and I’m ready to dive into my yoga lesson with my personal trainer. I’ve loved seeing my body change. I love seeing progress and improvements. It excites me boundlessly to flex and see my arms looking toned.... then run up to my husband and stop whatever he is doing and tell him to touch it. 😅
But I’ve also learned to love the quirks that make my body my own. I used to always think that my ears stuck out abnormally or that I have this weird pooch of skin just under my chest. Or that my thighs seem to always love touching each other. .
It’s part of who I am. .
Change can be amazing, but what’s more amazing is loving ourselves for who we are at every given moment. ♥️
