Anuther Asian Dessert is Sweet Peanut Soup, served clear, 花生汤 (Hua Sheng Tang) or creamy 花生糊 (Fa Sung Woo, more common in Cantonese Cuisine). I had the clear dessert in Taiwan, served with 油條 (You Tiao), a fried dough fritter, kinda like a fluffy Asian churro 😄
The best shaved ice in SF bay area. The texture of the ice is ultra fine, like shaved coconut. The mangos are high quality, really sweet. All the condiments are interesting too : mango sauce, sticky rice, almonds, condensed milk.
Pandan chiffon cake for tea time ☕ Who loves pandan? I do and i do not. Growing up in Malaysia i got the privilege to eat lots of cakes and desserts made with pandan oh they are so yummy! Nostalgic some might say. Its grown almost everywhere and almost every garden has at least one plant! Pandan is not only used for cooking though - i know mum has always loved knotting them up in bunches and leaving it under the kitchen sink, kitchen cabinets and even the boot of her car! Its meant to shoo away rodens and provide those spaces with a pleasant aroma. Theres a tip u guys can use; u r welcome hehe. Mind u i hated it - the smell of pandan leaves when left in a hot car in KL. I attempted growing pandan here in Perth but due to having cool winters, it grew but had no smell whatsoever booooo...so I resulted in buying frozen imported ones from Asia. Its cheaper that way and so its my go to when im making desserts. So here i made today pandan chiffon cake for selling and for my relatives to enjoy. Its so simple yet tricky to make! One wrong move u have a sunken cake. Successful and u shall have fluffy moist and bouncy cloud cake. Its got a very coconuty and sweet taste to it. Filled with fluffy meringue and gooey egg yolks - 7 eggs to be presise. I drooled typing it hahaha...enjoy my fellow lovelies 💚
