The decision between a beach day or a boat day can be a difficult one... 🏖🤷♀️🚤

Things have definitely taken a turn the past week. What began as homesickness and skepticism has gradually transformed into enlightened spirits and a curiosity to explore. The heat wave has subsided, for the most part. The deafening screeches of the cicadas have relented to a buzzing humdrum in the background. Still waiting for them to all die, yes, but I no longer have to plug my ears while walking down the street.
The adventures have begun, I’d say. We watched our first Korean football (soccer) match this Wednesday after work. Spent the weekend exploring the infamous Busan. We spent a total of 10 hours on the beach, on two different beaches. Three shades darker? Check. I wouldn’t call myself a beach person, but when the sand is this silky smooth and water this clear, I won’t say no. This sounds silly, but I love that there’s no fear of stepping on seaweed, rocks, moss, or other things that typically grow in the water. The rentable water tubes give the beaches here a vibe I’ve never seen on any American beach. You’ve got your normal red and yellow tubes, your unicorn tubes, turtle tubes, lobster tubes, giant whales. It’s picturesque. What I admire even more about the beaches here is that nobody cares what you do or what you look like. 95% of the people swimming are completely clothed. I’ve assumed it’s because Koreans value paler skin, and I’m not complaining. I love it. I have no feeling of insecurity or inadequacy, as I would have on any other Western beach. No body comparisons. I feel free.
I’ve also never seen so many old people swimming. Old ahjummas my grandma’s age in their giant caps, fully clothed, with socks too, being pushed around on water floats. Nothing like it. People of all ages are in the water, and it just communicates a feeling of family. Of complete comfort. I think by the time swimming season is over in October, I’ll be a beach girl. And 20 shades darker.
Also, for anyone in the Haeundae area, be sure to check out Dongbaek Island. There’s a lovely path with scenic views over the coast. Definitely ideal for a pre- or post-beach walk.
Awesome #birthdaygetaway with the kids and @jennyferyan ❤️🙏 #myadventurepartner
Grateful to @bah.5746 and family for having us for their durian season thanksgiving. Of course it was non stop food hits! 😂🤗
Puppy exploring some flowers. 🌸 Просто фото смешной собачки, которая нюхает цветочки. Ок гуляла в парке с пожилым японцем. Такая компания. Собачка тоже не увидела Фудзияму в этот раз. 😔

On this Independence day of Pakistan, I present to you Pakistan’s Super Hero Prime Minister, “Captain Paksitan” Imran Khan 🇵🇰✨
A fun little illustration I did to celebrate my Country and its new leader. I believe Pakistan has a lot to be happy about on its 71st Birthday. I see a lot of positivity coming our way and I only see my country going up ✨☀️ Proud to be a Pakistani and I wish this new change brings the actual change Pakistan deserves. @Imrankhanpti @Pakistan @ptiofficiallhr #ImranKhan#IndependenceDay#14August#Pakistan
