Daily practice of Ashtanga Yoga and Pranayama; afternoon deepening on the technique of Yoga; evening readings and meditation.
Accommodation in the royal house and three meals at the Gajlaxmi Palace. Vegetarian or vegan meals (even gluten-free), organic and homemade.
Tours to some of the main Region attractions, such as Mahima Monastry, Shiva Temple and Santkosta Sanctuary.

People ask me if I've studied in India and I see in their eyes as if I'm a bag of money because of my knowledge or flexibility.
Then want to pay coins (if nothing) without having any idea what weve been through in order to be able to be in the path of an Spiritual Guide.

I feel a mix of emotions and thoughts of how the world is turning Yoga into a million dollard business forgetting about what is real. 
We are not only a nice pretty legs in cool leggings that can back bend and look colourful in the pictures.

Thankfully I have my concious intact.

Ebbene si, quando si pensa allo yoga nella stragrande maggioranza dei casi si pensa solo alla flessibilità… Ma basta qualche mese di pratica per comprendere che la forza è un altro aspetto altrettanto importante se non di più. In questo ciclo di incontri andremo a capire perché, lavoreremo per costruirla e su come accedervi quando presente e come essa ci può aiutare a rendere tutta la nostra pratica più sicura e longeva. E abbineremo il lavoro sulla forza a quello degli equilibri sulle mani per aggiungere quel pizzico di divertimento che non guasta mai 😉

Desarrollar una práctica personal 5: INVERTIDAS Y PLANIFICADOR DE REGALO. ¡Link en bio! 🐸En los anteriores episodios de esta serie hemos visto como construir y avanzar en los grupos de posturas de pie, flexiones hacia delante, y extensiones hacia atrás, así como un episodio general en el que vimos las bases a la hora de crear este tipo de secuencias hablando de cómo ajustar la estructura en las diferentes grupos de Asanas y cómo unas posturas nos llevan a otras de una manera ordenada, constructiva y terapeútica. 🐵Con las invertidas sucede lo mismo que con las demás: las Asanas de pie son las que nos guían y alimentan, sustentan y proporcionan la dirección para poder hacer invertidas con seguridad. Veamos por qué.Si pensamos en Tadasana, la postura raíz desde la que estamos construyendo toda nuestra práctica y cuya importancia vimos en el primer episodio de esta serie, podríamos decir que los elementos que hay en esta, van a gobernar las invertidas. 🦁Tadasana y Sirsasana
Si ponemos sobre la mesa Sirsasana, la postura sobre la cabeza, hay algunas cosas que Tadasana nos aclara para luego transportarlas a esta postura sobre la cabeza. Por ejemplo queremos un cuello largo como el de Tadasana, un cuello en el que la presión no dañe nuestros discos intervertebrales. 🐧Para eso es necesario poner a los brazos a trabajar en la postura y que formen una buena base donde quitarle la mayor parte del peso a la cabeza, pero los brazos no van a trabajar adecuadamente si no hemos comprendido el trabajo que realizan en las posturas de pie donde le damos dirección y ajuste. Pensemos en Tadasana y la dirección que le damos a los brazos, con la piel de la axila posterior y frontal dirigiéndose hacía el pulgar y el meñique. Esa dirección que luego nos llevamos a Utthita Hasta Padasana que va cincelando nuestros brazos en cuanto a potencia y dirección se refiere.

Además, para hacer Sirsasana, tenemos que entender bien el giro hacia fuera del bíceps y la acción de la muñeca-mano que nos dan posturas como Adho Mukha Svanasana.

🔺 attention 🔻 (self-awareness post) 
9 years ago today i got an accident, i broke almost all my body and doctors said that I will not be able to do the things before i used to ( like sports, dance, wearing heels etc. ) because i broke my pelvis and many bones that they had to strengthen them with couple titanium parts with surgeries as well. I started to screw my life and health with all the weaknesses everyone could have done. 
And then I realized my mental strength. I decided to start yoga and meditation. Since then I came to this point in my 3 years of self-thought practices. 
I just want you to know that only power you need is to believe in yourself what ever they think or say. Just do it. Go with the flow. Trust the process. Even when you mess up. Its part of the process. Accept and move on.

I don't consider myself a real hoarder, but still, after my return from living abroad for 8 months I gave away many things I was never using. And to be honest, it feels amazing to let those burdens go. Relieving the mind of this extra baggage is the practice of Aparigraha in the Patanjali system of Yoga. A social morality based on giving to others, and taking only what we will really use. A well-balanced practice will enlighten us like Jesus, Buddha and the Beatles😌🙏.

Might be at the beginning of our change of consciousness the commitment to apply these principles but then commitment disappears becoming natural because is going deeper into ourselves, we have integrated this way of life feeling differently.

🌿 Last year I left my photography job with Amazon to pursue a location independent lifestyle.  I saved up money for a year (previous to leaving the job), I made vague plans of where I wanted to go, I sold my car and sold or gave away most of my other things.  I packed a backpack and left with no solid plans of when (or if) I’d come back or where I’d end up.  Many beautiful things have happened since that time.  I’ve been to 8 countries, met amazing people, developed my photography and body movement in new and exciting ways, started relationships with wonderful companies, and not once regretted my decision.  My life.. and more specifically my income.. is much more… inconsistent than it used to be, but I gotta say.. life is good, and I’m so grateful for the path I’m headed down.  For now, I’m back home in Seattle finishing an ebook of 100 yoga posture diagrams that I’ve been working on (intermittently) for over a year (and it’s almost DONE! YAY!). I have other projects in the works, and I’m looking towards the next travel locations once my book releases.  All this to say, deciding to follow your passions with 100% dedication IS scary sometimes, but I’m becoming a firm believer that when we give our everything to something we believe in, life is fulfilling no matter what comes.

I had the good fortune to have a teacher @balu.sadhanayoga that saw and unravel my potential, teaching me the technic and giving me the confidence to start practicing 
Viparita chakrasana is a challenging sequence  where the ultimate goal of this posture is to pike into handstand from Downward Facing Dog and let the legs fall over from Handstand into Urdhva danurasana and then you bounce right back up into handstand and over into Downward Facing Dog.

HOW NOT TO DO KAPOTASANA

I don’t often post yoga videos because I found in the past that I was doing it to get admiration/kudos/comments, and that’s not very healthy for me.

I do, however, believe we can learn from seeing other people make mistakes and analysing them with kindness.

So here is my Kapotasana. For background, I always had the very short hamstrings but very flexible back, which allowed me to move through Second Series relatively quickly.

But can you see what is wrong with this video? My lower back hinges like a door but nothing much else is happening. My belly is floppy, my hip flexors are not cooperating, and my upper back is pretending that none of this is its business.

I now have a very long road of relearning Kapo ahead of me. Undoing movement patterns is really hard work, particularly in days when you are tired and you just want to get through the sequence. But it would be better to not practice a pose than to insist in doing it knowing you are not doing it correctly or safely.

Its more of a "Practice this" 🙏

💖 AHIMSA is first and is the practice of NON-VIOLENCE, which includes physical, mental, and emotional violence towards others and ourselves.

We create violence most often in our reactions to events and others, creating judgment, criticism or anger.

It's such a tricky one.
I'm all for non violence. The plain to see, no brainer, easy stuff is no problemo. I don't harm and hurt others. ✔
. 👉🏽 But this ahimsa is MORE than that.
It's not allowing the harm come to oneself too.
🙌🏽 I love that there is acknowledgement of the harm we create IN ourselves TO ourselves
That critical inner voice that constantly berates and finds fault with ourselves?
🙏 Learn to still and quiet that voice

💔 I find when I'm in situations where people are mean-spirited, judgmental and bigoted... I feel the unfairness of it all so deeply in my soul that I feel such a layering of anger and anxiety there.
Which is judgment from me too. 😞
(even if the reaction feels justified... the toxin is not)

🙏 We have to let go of the anger and violence we project outwards and the anger and violence we hold on inside

💖The answer lies in the stillness.
💖The answer lies in letting go of the cycle.

HALASANA (Plough Pose)

STEPS: ○ Lie flat on the back with the feet and legs together.
○ Place the arms beside the body with the palms facing down.
○ Relax the whole body.
○ Raise both legs to vertical position, keeping them straight and together, using only the abdominal muscles.
○ Press down on the arms and lift the buttocks, rolling the back away from the floor.
○ Lower the legs over the head.
○ Bring the toes towards the floor behind the head without straining not forcing toes to touch the floor.
○ Turn the palms up, bend elbows and place hands behind the ribcage to support the back.
○ Relax and hold pose for as long as is comfortable.

BENEFITS: ○ Massages internal organs.
○ Activates digestion.
○ Relieving constipation and dyspepsia.
○ Revitalizes the spleen and the suprarenal glands.
○ Promotes the production of insulin by the pancreas.
○ Improves liver and kidney function.
○ Strenghtens abdominal muscles.
○ Relieves spasms in the back muscles.
○ Tones the spinal nerves.
○ Increases blood circulation.

HALASANA (Plough Pose) STEPS: ○ Lie flat on the back with the feet and legs together. ○ Place the arms beside the body with the palms facing down. ○ Relax the whole body. ○ Raise both legs to vertical position, keeping them straight and together, using only the abdominal muscles. ○ Press down on the arms and lift the buttocks, rolling the back away from the floor. ○ Lower the legs over the head. ○ Bring the toes towards the floor behind the head without straining not forcing toes to touch the floor. ○ Turn the palms up, bend elbows and place hands behind the ribcage to support the back. ○ Relax and hold pose for as long as is comfortable. MAYURASANA (Peacok Pose)

STEPS:
○ Kneel on the floor.
○ Place the feet together while separating the knees.
○ Lean forward and place both palms between the knees on the floor with the fingers pointing towards the feet.
○ Bring the elbows and forearms together.
○ Lean further forward and rest the abdomen on the elbows and the chest on the upper arms.
○ Stretch the legs backwards until they're straight and together.
○ Tense the muscles of the body and slowly elevate the trunk and legs until they're horizontal on the floor.
○ Hold the head upward.
○ Balance the whole body using the palm of the hands.
○ Try to elevate the legs and feet higher.
○ Do not strain. 
BENEFITS: ○ This asana stimulates the metabolic processes which increase secretions from different glands.
○ It stimulates the eliminations of toxins from the blood, assisting the removal of skin conditions such as boils.
○ All the digestive organs are being massaged and intestinal peristalsis is stimulated.
○ Helps manage flatulence, constipation, diabetes and sluggishness of the liver and kidneys.
○ Harmonizes the glands of endocrine system.
○ Develops mental and physical balance.

Tra qualche giorno compiró 31 anni e sicuramente posso dire di essere estremamente felice per ciò che ho realizzato in quest’ anno, sia per quanto riguarda la mia sfera privata che quella professionale: ho iniziato sempre di più a viaggiare per lavoro iniziando ad insegnare e a mettermi in gioco in alcuni workshop che sono esattamente ciò in cui mi sono sempre applicato; conoscere nuove persone, confrontarsi, cercare di trasmettere ciò che ho imparato sono sensazioni che mi danno tanta energia e gioia. 
Mi impegnerò sempre a portare avanti i miei seminari in giro e ringrazio tutte le persone che mi hanno dato fiducia soprattutto in questo primo anno in cui mi sto facendo conoscere.
Quest’ anno (didattico) si apre anche con un altro progetto, cercare di portare qualità e professionalità in quella che è la mia città, La Spezia, in cui sono nato e cresciuto; a fine ottobre si aprirà un centro di Yoga e Movimento insieme a dei cari e fidati amici... ma per queste e altre novità rimanete in contatto per essere aggiornati! 😉

Fantastico weekend con Yuval qui a La Spezia!!! Mi piace tantissimo lavorare sulla verticale, devo concentrarmi molto sull’ attivazione dei piedi e delle gambe perché faccio ancora fatica a percepirli nello spazio quando sono a testa in giù, però mi piace tantissimo allenarmi sulla verticale, perché è molto stimolante cercare di migliorarmi sempre di più! Amazing weekend with Yuval here in La Spezia !!! I really like the work on the handstand, I have to focus a lot on activation of the feet and legs because I still struggle to perceive them in space when they are upside down, but I really like to train on the handstand, because it is very stimulating to try to improve always more!
