Our first Do Good Artist Residency is underway! Seattle based conceptual artist @Rorablue is slowly transforming the Upstreet artist space into a gallery with the Unsent Project.
The #unsentproject is a collection of unsent text messages to first loves. Rora Blue's collage installation is comprised of anonymous submissions from people that live on PEI. The goal is to figure out what color people see love in on PEI. If you would like to contribute, there are submission drop boxes in the Upstreet Taproom, @CraftbeerPEI and at @hopyardbeerbar. Submissions will be added to the collage as they are received and it will grow from the center out - swipe to see what she has so far.
She'll be hosting an #ArtTalk and beer release for her delicious Mocha Porter on August 24th starting at 7pm, check our Facebook event for deets. She also loves drop-ins, so come on by.
Submit your unsent text and be a part of #DoGoodResidency history! @thistownissmallpei

Why do we work anyway? To squirrel it all away for our on pleasure? Nah...that all changes with kids. Ha ha! .
There was a time I longed to have plenty of paints, brushes and canvas. And ideas and support. There was always something lacking. .
But God has brought abundance in this area. Abundance=more than I need. And that is the case now. .
Why? So I have enough to GIVE. .
I’m loving all the creations I get to share and the beautiful people I get to work with. #feelingblessed
MAN WITH THE UMBRELLA 2018.
When I create, I control by surrendering control.
You cannot beat a river into submission, you have to surrender to its current and use its power as your own. Those are the rules i live by ''do what thy mind wilt''..Life is heterogenous.

Ahhhhhh really diggin this brush. Holds a decent amount of paint and just the right amount of stiffness for feedback/control. That blue outline was over 3x thicker yet was way more difficult to lay down😩 #artTalk#Artversation#ToolzOfDaTrade 😎👍
I will be in conversation with @yung.yemi - the alter-ego of @soteeoh – for the opening of the @manifesto_to art show tomorrow.
The beauty of his work as a photographer has always been much more than the images he captures. The stories he tells and emotions he conveys through his editing and his masterful attention to the presentation of his pictures are both characteristics that are fundamental to the art of Yung Yemi.
We will also talk about the dimensions of his creative expression – in both form and narrative – that could not be created by a camera, and the power of creating spaces of encounter through Black images. 📷 by @gilesmonette
Having @tessarlo as a part of the @manifesto_to art talk tomorrow is special because we first met through the process of preparing for this conversation.
His work brings big colour and open-ended imagery to largely industrial materials. We will speak about how the years of training and practice to create realistic and definite forms in his work are still present as his art has evolved.
We will also speak about his fascination with conveying ideas indirectly – “getting to a truth taking the scenic route.” 📷 by @gilesmonette
Tomorrow, I will be speaking with @hatecopy – an artist that I’ve admired since I first saw her work.
We will talk about the roots of her art in the comics she drew as a child, the impact her education and career as a writer have had on her practice, and how being an artist has been a vehicle for connecting to her community.
She will not be explaining what an Auntie is. 📷 by @gilesmonette
@ashleymckenziebarnes is the curator of the @manifesto_to Art Show.
I will be interviewing her to open the CONVENE x Manifesto panel on Aug 15th inside of Ossington Tire (146 Ossington) at 530pm.
One of the first things we will talk about is the overall vision for the show, which includes a mind-blowing line-up:
@tahsinthegood + more!
Another thing we will get into is the word ‘curator’ – how it is a specific practice with specialized skills, as well as something we all do in our creative lives. 📷 by @gilesmonette

So along side all this crazy mural stuff, I had to face one of my many enormous fears 👀 public speaking. I finally participated in the #thrivetalks for @thriveartstudio. It was crazy. I had a panic attack the day before (poor Abid), but was so exhausted by my over thinking by the time I reached the talk, I told myself "whatever" and just did it.
Thanks for this photo @roamtheplanet
Ps. Snippet of the talk coming up in my stories!
Meet our another artist of Art Talk Deepak Vijay. @artisiopix
About Deepak in his words:
Hello, I am Deepak from Hyderabad. I have completed my Master's Degree in Information System management, with an exposure gained from the United States towards my career and dreams, arts motivated me to work and follow my dreams. As my profession is into business and management, with a passion for arts following on the side. I would love to work and balance my professionalism and dream. Arts does have an epitome of beauty, we just need to relinquish the beauty. With a support from my friends right from kids zone to present, I dedicated my artworks to my friends who forced me to work on it and achieve the name as an Artist. My artworks rely on complete professionalism which attracts a lot of people, which is quite trendy, catchy and fulfills their empty space on an empty wall, office desk and office walls, moreover, my works help people inspire whatever they do. I believe that every painting has a story and past, and that made me mature in life and work towards arts.
So are you guys coming to meet and gain your knowledge about the art and grow better ?
Do tell us in comment section about ur thoughts.

Lets talk about prints.
I envision these as my final product. When I shoot I see the final product on paper rather than on a screen, it allows a different style of thinking in where one sees the framing from the perspective of the audience.
All my prints are hand printed personally by me in a dark room, using light sensitive paper, an enlarger, my negative of choice I project the negative onto a piece of paper. Various times are used to approximate a correct exposure for a well printed image. The paper is then immersed in several chemical baths to obtain the image.
No digital tools are used in the creation of both my print and my negative.
(bersambung, angkotnya sdh sampai ...)
