Celebrating the Capricorn Coast through a series of video art, a/v performances and interactive installations
For the first 12mths (Until May 2018) this project was funded thanks to the Regional Arts Development Fund.
The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) is a partnership between Queensland Government (@qldgov) through Arts Queensland (@artsqueensland) and Livingstone Shire Council (@livingstoneshirecouncil ) to support local arts and culture.
We would like to continue to grow this project and will soon be seeking support from more local organisations, businesses, artists and contributors.
Closing night, awkward family photos are always the best. Missing two of the team, but this is us.
I have been wanting to direct something for quite a time, but couldn't find a text that sparked a fierce interest in me or that was a feasible option - and then I read MOTH. I am humbled and grateful for the opportunities, experiences and challenges this production has afforded me. I emerge from this work ready to find the next project to sink my teeth into.
THANK YOU to the incredible team of artists that agreed to come on board for #MOTH2018 . I'm enormously proud of and humbled by each of your work. It's been a hard slog, but what we made together was definitely worth it.
Declan's text is not an easy one to digest, but I feel confident in saying that the work we produced did indeed do it justice.
To my creative team, Ben and Morgan - thank you for your detailed, careful work. The precision of your contributions is exactly what was needed to give the work the vitality the text demands.
Phillip - thank you for coming on board late in the process and for your attention to detail.
Lucas - thanks for having my back, for the many phone calls, and for the advice and vote of confidence.
To the Empire - thank you for presenting opportunities for professional artists to showcase their work. More and more, Toowoomba is proving that the artists based here are of worth. We need to work to maintain and expand upon these opportunities, ensuring that the required support infrastructures are in place to allow our sector to flourish. Regional arts matter.
Harry and Ri - what more could I have asked of you? Thank you for your dedication and openness during our time together. More to come, so much more to come for you, my friends.
A big thanks goes to the supporters of our work - sponsors @dancecentral.toowoomba and Evolution Studios, and government funding partners @toowoombaregion and the @qldgov through @artsqueensland.
And a happy thank you to our audiences, for the warm reception and overwhelming feedback.
But otherwise, that's all from team MOTH for now.
