I’d like to take this Tuesday morning to share a new endeavor. My passion for supporting fellow artists and the art community in a Tulsa has lead me to @918makers -we are a group for artists and makers in the Tulsa area who are looking for support, encouragement, and a place to share resources. 🎨
We hope to encourage fellow makers to show and sell their creations, by sharing and eventually creating opportunities to do so. We will also be starting a podcast by the same name hosted by cofounder @jellercreations and myself!
SO if you are a Tulsan interested in supporting local art and business, please go like our page here and on Facebook, follow as we feature local makers and art events.
If you are a maker, please go join our private group on Facebook and answer our “what do you make” question! Can’t wait to meet and support you!
I CANNOT believe that it’s only been 10 episodes of #theartistathletepodcast it feels like it’s been 100. 😝 Each one takes a good bit of time to schedule, record, edit, reflect on, and send out to the world. But it’s SO WORTH IT when I get to showcase not only current stars, but the rising movers and shakers in our community, like @doug_stewartt .
Doug Stewart is the founder and executive director of @thecirqueus , a circus company that produces original work and tours New England each summer. I loved talking to Doug a bit about the business side of circus: what it’s like to create a show, hold auditions, and book a tour. If you’re an aspiring circus producer or an individual performer who wants to dig deeper into the self-producing side of the industry, this episode is for you!

Not only is Tim McLaughlin a musician in several bands, but he also runs Music's Edge Rock Camp, and teaches music at Marcola and Oak Hill School. He's an example of how artists are not only pursuing their own creative endeavors but are giving back to the community.
