Version 1 (single layer) of the woodblock I created for the Día de Los Muertos celebration at @fleisherart this coming weekend.
This piece of work was a psychological feat of strength that I couldn’t have accomplished without my emotional support panda and ghostprinter, @mikgm
I spent the morning with my youngest @newfieldstoday. Going to art museums with my kids is always eye opening and inspiring. They see the world in such a different way, noticing small details and stopping to look at something that I would pass by. It’s nice to slow down and take it all in. Here is a peek at “Sprawl II”. It will be on display at Clowes Memorial Hall at Butler University during my solo show, “Finding Home: Something of a Journey.” Opening Reception is November 6th from 6-7pm!
I had the most glorious day at a pencil/art supply factory just outside of Porto @viarcoportugal. Certainly a highlight of my trip and you bet I filmed it all for my up-coming ecourse #timelessarches . I am so excited about this! Make sure you get on the first dibs list to be notified when it launches so you don't miss out, space will be limited! Link in profile.
I recently brought in all my plants from outside in preparation for colder temps. I like to let all my house plants spend the summer outside. It’s amazing to see how they grow over a season.
This is a night blooming cereus that bloomed three times this summer, but just one blossom each time. One year it had 14 blossoms that all bloomed on the same night! This plant is constantly changing. It does it’s own thing, and some times I have to trim it back quite a bit. I love the current wild shape of the branches, so I couldn’t resist drawing it a few times. Swipe through to see a couple of “detail” studies. Now I want to draw more plants.
These are days 11, 12, and 13 for Inktober.
Drawn with gray Pentel marker and colored with mixed @winsorandnewton inks.
Mixed Media Canvas work in progress, going to add a few more details in pastel but alas it's still drying. Work is so much faster in paper 😉 Here there's layers upon layers...Swipe for a close up ▶️
Fractured Mind. WIP
Mixed Media. Acrylics/Collage/Charcoal.
I was so mad at this painting, nothing felt right so I decided to give it just a little negative space with Titanium Buff, then the little turned into Huge.
Finnaly, before I threw it out the window I started peeling layers off and..well now I like it and I think I will keep it 😏
I've got the blues - Mixed Media on 20x20' 50x50cm Canvas
Still needs varnishing but don't want to do anything else to it.
I may have overworked this weekends pink canvas 😣 We will see how it turns out!
