First self portrait since high school. Self portraits can be tough. Trying to paint objectively without letting your perceptions about yourself show up on the canvas. That could be a good thing, though. Acrylic on canvas, 16x20in.
📸@rapid_space | Unless you learn to understand and accept yourself, nothing will feel right or make you happy. I didn't know just how many of my likes, dislikes, and opinions came from others that I just accepted as my own 👽
This piece has been donated to @i_heart_sct for their fundraiser at the Charles H. Morris center on Oct. 19th. You can bid on it through https://one.bidpal.net/sctGala/auction if you can’t make it to the event.

One of my favorite colours to work with used to be florescent red. I had forgotten how much I loved working with it until I did this piece.
Can't wait to experiment more with this style and get back to what I'm most comfortable with, which is the use of lots of colour.
