One of the things I realized during the #100heads challenge is that I love line more than form. I don’t care much about making my drawing look 3-d anymore. My goal became more about using the expressive quality of line to convey the gesture and mood of the head. #brushpen#penandink

Med school is not easy. Not at all. And we all put in a lot of hard work when it comes to studying. Making my way into one of the best medschools in Karachi, Pakistan I realised that from where I’m coming (my school and college) I surely was among the best students but when I reached here I realised that the medschool is a collection of toppers from all over the state. The university selects the cream from all the provinces and the school is filled with brains better than yours. This usually serves as a mere reason to add to our depression in the first few semesters when we see our results not matching the hard work we put into. Some move on and accept the reality, some may stay stuck and start demotivating themselves.
This post is dedicated to all those who are entering medschool or those who’ve made into it and are now subjected to this sadness that they are not worth it or they have diminished from where they were in their previous institutions. I just want to tell you that in my experience working hard is the key to success and one should work the same way you did in your schools and colleges but do not however, at any point make medschool a competition. It is not a competition. You’re in medschool and you’re going to be a doctor. You do not need the piece of paper saying 4.00 or 2.89 to explain somebody you’re a better doctor. All that matters is your clinical skills, how you empathise with your patients & if you’re able to manage your patient timely. The paper holds no importance when it comes to jobs, it’s all about your clinical knowledge , practice and skills. I don’t ask you to stop working hard, medschool is all about working hard and studying when others party ☹️ but it’ll be worth it in the end. I believe and I can assure you that. ✨♥️
