On Tuesday 11 December AFF's Regional Manager North & Central Sarah and North East Co-ordinator Caroline were lucky enough to attend the unveiling of four new monuments at Catterick Garrison, North Yorkshire. The new centrepiece, a stone-carved locomotive and three Wensleydale stone monuments depicting The Lord Baden-Powell, a “Tommy”, and a member of the Royal Flying Corps,
has been created to commemorate the fallen and marks the 100th anniversary of the Armistice.
Garrison Commander Lieutenant Colonel Joe Jordan said “It is a masterpiece that will live on through generation after generation. The aim of this project was to give Catterick Garrison, the local parishes and community a centrepiece to commemorate the fallen that they can be proud of, as it is no less than everyone deserves."
