Taste of...autumn! 🍂🍃🍁
We spread a feast for a conker championships few weeks back at the end of October. But really it was *all* about the cake. Particularly this whole and hazelnut crumble cake from @simplethingsmag October edition - all the best autumnal ingredients in a slice! Even though we're almost half way through November we're still making it with foraged ingredients, and we even tried it with a cocoa twist. 😋 Well done to my little bakers for pulling out all the stops for their friends. It was a real treat! 👍👏
Going with the theme of apple, our Ringo is the long standing best seller in our line of cake. Don’t let its unassuming looks fool you as it packed with a lot of good punches (I mean apples) inside 🤣

Look at the crumbs on this apple crumb pie!!! Althought Petee’s Pie in the city remains my favorite pie place of all time - coming from a girl that dislikes pies to begin with 😭 - this was actually really good too!
It tasted much more sour, but refreshing than normal apple pies, which was a huge turn off for my dad but a cool new taste for me. 🤷🏽♀️🥧

I often get asked what my favourite dessert to bake is.. Honestly, I love home comfort ... Especially at this time of year so Today I made an apple crumble cake using apples from the garden ❤️ Almond sponge with cinnamon coated apple filling topped with crumble!
