Looking for a super easy and cheap way to spruce up your home or change your current vibe?! Grab some paint, a roller brush and let the transformation begin.
Curious, do you make your bed everyday? My mom ingrained that habit in me, that’s for sure! It’s literally the first thing I do every morning. Talk about starting the day off productively. My mom also helped me paint! So, here’s a shout out to all of the moms that help you when you need it. Or maybe, just when you really want it.
What DIY projects have you learned how to do from your mom?
Can’t. Stop. Laughing. The boys weren’t quite sure what I was making them do but they were such good sports! If you don’t get the reference keep swiping right! But seriously, their expressions perfectly represent being brothers. Step or not! 😂😂😂 Noah and Tobys Version of Step Brothers!
A little bit more progress in here this week 👍🏻Let me tell you, those dots did not want to go without a fight & I’ve lost count how many coats I’ve had to do 😩

In memoriam - poor Paul here (of John, Paul, George, and Ringo) was looking fresh and healthy several months ago when this photo was taken, and so he was just a couple weeks ago as well. Alas, he succumbed to a #plantfail recently and I don’t know why! (I dry him upside down so I don’t think it was rot...) . . . | . . . #airplant#airplants#tillandsia#anotheronebitesthedust

This week, I am sharing the story of our home. I chose to do this because I thought that it may be interesting for readers to know more about the context surrounding the scenes shown in my squares. It’s just an average story, but average stories are the ones that I like most, so I’m trying not to be shy about continuing to share it. Let me know in the comments of these posts if any of them resonate with you.
Today’s topic is “how we approached renovating our house.” This is the part that was simple to plan yet has been difficult to execute. I’ll explain what I mean by that below.
When we bought that house, it was in excellent condition with many recent updates. We wanted to renovate it to reflect our style. We began by identifying our priorities of what to change, and then tackled the list.
Our approach to tackling the renovation list involved a combination of hiring contractors and doing things ourselves. We expected that hiring contractors would be easy while doing things ourselves would be difficult. But we were wrong! Contractors proved to be elusive when we sought them and unreliable after we found them. For example, it took us over a month simply to choose a contractor to lead our kitchen renovation, and then that person worked for only a few hours per day, canceling altogether on at least one day per week. For projects that we have done ourselves, we have enjoyed the increased sense of control but have disliked the time intensiveness. We like to stay busy—with other activities.
Despite the bad experiences, we continue to plan to use contractors for the major renovation tasks. But we still will do the small tasks ourselves. If you’ve done a renovation, I want to know: How have you divided the labor?
My promo video is finally here 🙌🏼 💫 🎥
I have been so excited to post this as I think it gives a little glimpse into how my work looks and feels in the flesh. 🦋
I create carefully considered portraits of birds, using an array of deconstructed textiles and materials. My aim is to celebrate the vast diversity of bird life, and to protect their beauty both literally and metaphorically within museum glass.
If you are interested in purchasing a piece, or commissioning me, please do not hesitate to direct message me. I find it is a lot more personal if I can talk to you privately 💎 xx.
My absolute dream is be able to donate a percentage of every piece sold to @rspb_love_nature, so to help my dream come true, please show your support by liking, commenting and following my work, and together we might be able to make this happen 🤞🏼✨💫. It is more important now than ever to help our wildlife as it struggles to keep up with the ever changing climate.
Thanks to @annarachphotography who made this happen, and to @dirk_van_niekerk for the editing 🙌🏼 you guys are the best xx
