Yesterday I was on a mission for a works Christmas party dress and forgot about the gram. So here’s what I ate. First up, halloumi croquettes from @theninesydney with avo, poached egg, feta and tomatoes ... BANGIN! Morning! I’m officially back online! It’s been a crappy few weeks where my lupus has been kicking my ass. There’s been no training and no cooking for a while. I’ve been bed bound except for dragging myself into the office but I’m feeling a bit better and ready to carry on. I couldn’t finish the challenge, my anxiety was through the roof and it was putting too much pressure on myself and making me literally go crazy. 
So I’m back to sticking to my usual principles

since having some dental work done, my mouth has been pretty tender and raw. with any surgery or procedure, inflammation occurs so with help from @vitalenergybalance I’ve upped my intake of anti-inflammatory foods starting w/ this hot beverage of choice: Golden✨Milk.

Traditionally, golden milk/turmeric milk has been used for colds, congestion, headache, and sore throats. Turmeric is also a depression-fighter! Turmeric has strong anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties, making it complementary for cancer-prevention as well.

Ingredients: (for two)
•2 cups nut milk •1 tsp coconut oil
•1 tsp turmeric powder •1 tsp powder ginger
•1/4 tsp cinnamon
•1 sprinkle black pepper •honey to taste

Place milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Add turmeric, ginger, and pepper. Stir well. Let the milk begin to simmer. Stir. Allow to heat for another minute or two being careful not to let the milk overheat. 
Continue to stir. Turn off heat, cover, and allow the golden milk mixture to sit for ten minutes or so to improve the infusion. Strain the golden milk through a strainer if you have used fresh ingredients.

You know how you have those friends that are GF? Or don’t eat dairy? Or sugar? and you just literally can’t understand HOW they live without eating bread or cheese? As one of those ‘weird’ people I am just here to show a personal reason WHY I am passionate about my food choices. These pics are no filter. This is my face breaking out because I wanted to be ‘normal’ on a holiday. I’m not even going to show you what the back of my arms and legs look like - chicken skin😳 I want to eat the crackers &cheeseballs, sweet potatoes w/ marshmallows, giant piece of pie, all the wine, ALL the macaroni and cheese bc I FREAKIN’ LOVE MAC N CHEESE. But this is what happens when I try to be ‘normal.’ Those that say ‘oh you’ll be fine’ or ‘it won’t kill you’ - you’re right, I’m not dead but my body certainly feels like it. I’m not mad at anybody. I made the decision. I decided to ignore everything I know and eat like SHIT the past few days. Then this AM I went to wash my face and looking back at me was the face of me 6 yrs ago when I didn’t know that dairy is horrible for everyone or that I have an intolerance to soy. I thought ‘chicken skin’ was something I HAD to live with forever, that I would always feel sluggish and be a coffee addict, I mean how many espresso shots is too much? LOL I didn’t know it was all related to food. I WISH I could live my best life in dietary denial but I can’t. I’ll be back on track this week but please, if you have friends who are like me, understand we have a reason. Personally, I like to button my pants comfortably and have clear skin. IMO a healthy lifestyle shouldn’t be a source of shame 🤗 New Years is upon us, and I am determined to make 2019 my healthiest year yet🙏 Life is too short to feel like shit 💁🏼‍♀️ I’m just saying 🤣🤣🤣 AND If you want to change yours - gain back your natural energy, cure the oily face or dry skin, stop breakouts, kick your sugar addiction, truly learn how awesome your body can FEEL inside out then PM me and let’s talk. No judgement, just love. I’ve been there and this holiday was just a small reminder of how much I don’t want to go back, and I am truly thankful I can fix this and help others do the same 😌😍

I’ve been making it ever since! The only problem is that there’s never enough 😢. Make sure to mix it periodically while it's in the oven to prevent burning while the hazelnuts caramelize (car-a-mel-aiz not car-mull-aiz)

Chicken Parmesan patties! This was a random experiment on a snowy day. We were craving something warm, delicious, and comforting and these hit the spot. Started with ground chicken, garlic, onion, Italian seasoning, and Himalayan salt patties baked then brushed with a coconut milk, turmeric, and lemon mixture. From there we dipped the patties in an arrowroot, nutritional yeast, and salt breading and fried in coconut oil until golden and delicious. Served over spaghetti squash and nomato sauce. I’m back!
Last week was the most chaotic week I’ve had in a long time, crazy at work, crazy stuff at home. Life massively got in the way of the plan. I still stuck to it the majority of the time, but it was the smoothie for breakfast every day, the pumpkin wrap for lunch every day and the veggie lasagne most nights! I’m going back to the detox meals this week, I felt great on those and after such a stressful week adding dairy into my diet has given me terrible skin. After a detox week I’ll be back on the plan with everyone else for week 5!

This week has been hard, I’ve been stressed and forgotten breakfast and snacks, I’ve been ill and lost my appetite missing other meals, and I’ve not been careful enough in classes and given myself an RA flare meaning I had to rest all weekend.
All in all I’m pretty grumpy and while I still lost almost a kilo this week I know I could have done so much better.
