Mother is now my favorite vegan/vegetarian restaurant. We went for my birthday. We got the Chicken Fried Mushrooms, Chicken Fried Mushroom Po Boy, and the Carrot Nut Burger. They were all delicious. I would recommend this place because it's now my first pick.

Every so often I come across photographs that make me feel something. I studied photo journalism in college and appreciate when a good moment is captured, not posed. This photo @sfisherx took of lil’ Chester at @boochaces Rancho Relaxo. I think I am going to start sharing more of her work with you all because what she does is so important for the animal rights movement. She risks her life to go places where an animal rights photographer is not welcome. I’ve shown her photographs to several people who still eat meat/dairy and it made them feel something. Whether they were prepared to or not, they felt a connection to the animal. Please give @sfisherx a follow. She’s such a selfless and lovely soul. I’m thankful I’m able to use her photography as a tool for animal rights. I hope it makes you feel a connection to the subjects in the photographs like it did for me. Thank you, Samm. Come back to Oregon. ♥️

The best way to eat your ice cream is cruelty-free‼️ There is NO DAIRY in any of our ice cream flavors, in any of milk shakes, or in any of our drinks! Yes, you heard that right - we are 100% vegan ON ALL OF OUR ITEMS ON OUR MENU! 🥰 Find out why vegans and non-vegans alike call our ice cream, “The best we’ve ever had!” #HugLifeIceCream
Alright, here’s me trying to do something helpful.
If - like me - you’re trying to cut out cow’s milk (for it is bad stuff) you might be trying to negotiate the now abundant other options, so I thought I’d share my findings (I know, it’s pretty rock & roll but I think we can handle it right?). Thought I’d start with ‘old faithful’, Soya. Soya milk for me is the most flavour-free option and I mean this in a good way. It’s taste and consistency are the closest I’ve found to skimmed/semi-skimmed milk and this is the one you want in your cup of tea.
Let’s be honest, no substitute ever matched the original in terms of exact likeness so this and all other non-dairy milks take a few mugs to get familiar with but stick with it, it works. A big milk drinker, the transition was tough for me (#firstworldproblems ) but I’m a willing convert now and cow’s milk tastes a bit like soap.
There are better alternatives (in my humble opinion) for other purposes but this is the ‘staple’.
Other brands are available. But I buy this one.
Hot Chick'n Cauliflower Sandwich
1 head of Cauliflower (chopped in steaks)
2 tsp steak seasoning
1/2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp hot sauce
1 tbsp vegan butter
How to make:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees while prepping the cauliflower. Firstly chop the cauliflower steaks in half and put them on a baking tray. Then brush on the olive oil on all of the pieces and sprinkle on the steak seasoning. When the oven is done preheating place the cauliflower in the oven for 10 minutes. While baking mix together vegan butter and hot sauce, you may have to melt the vegan butter so it turns to liquid. When the 10 minutes are up brush on the hot sauce butter mix on all of the cauliflower. Put in the oven for another 15-20 minutes. Depending how you like your cauliflower you can leave it a bit longer to make it softer. When cauliflower is done take them out and let them cool. When done cooling put the cauliflower on a bun with pickles and some mustard.
Pacifica is one of the best vegan makeup brand in my opinion. This is the best mascara because you can have thin long lashes or thick lashes. Or you can have both, I wish it was waterproof but other wise I love this.
