New product! Espolon Extra Anejo X Limited Edition Tequila
Anejo X is secretly laid to rest for six long years. The extra aging creates a tequila of rich, complex flavors and uncommon character. There’s only one Anejo X, and once the limited quantity is gone, it’s gone forever.
Nose: Slightly oral yet subtly smoky, its prominent roasted agave nose marries with baking spices and hints of toasted almond, vanilla, ripened pineapple, maple and oak.
Taste: Prominent vanilla with notes of nutmeg and white peppercorn are joined by hints of cocoa nibs, bitter chocolate, rich roasted fruits and agave. A rich mouthfeel with lingering traces of dark chocolate, cherry, tobacco and honey. #espolon#tequila#anjeo#anejoX#extraanejo#limitededition#dewinespot#brooklyn#williamsburg#winesake

Brisbane gave a great warm welcome. We drove with an #Uber to our rented apartment in the Valley and passed so many nice bars, restaurants, shops and cafés, we had problems closing our jaws. Maybe we were desperate after 10 days in New Caledonia, where we didnt see much people, shops or nice cafés. Maybe it is the size, that is similiar to Hamburg, my wife's hometown, and the location on a river like Cologne, which is my hometown. Maybe it was just the comfort everyone is now speaking a language again which we I understand (#sryformyfrench ) or whatever, but we instantly liked this place. Wheather fine, pick up from the airpoert no problem, accomondation fine, grocery store around the corner, beer prices much better than in Sydney – just a great start without any big problems. It's been different since we are traveling. What I brought from New Caledonia, besides insane pictures and memories from corals, turtles, fish, wales, birds, lagoons and sandy beaches, was a bottle of Havanna Anjeos Especial. Rum again, but in a warm envirement it just seems to be the most natural thing to buy and drink. Plus: Australias history is full of rum related events. The rum hospital in Sydney for instance and all the fights for and against rum making licenses. I love the country for that. It feels to me like its built on Rum.
I like to keep it simple: Mango is a great basis for rum drinks. Chilli and lime are in love anyway. Just don't make to much chichi around this and just use ice and a bit more sweetness (depending on the mango you can get). No need to use a blender or strain or anything, it is just fine like this. Just like Bris. A fine and simple welcome to the gate of the Fold Coast
I dont't drink tequila that often, but when I do, I like good tequila. Triple distilled aged 3 years in new French Oak barrels, and hand selected for quality, Milagro's Select Barrell Reserve Añejo fits the bill. Smooth, oaky, with a butterscotch/caramel finish that is plesantly sweet.
Tequila o’clock with Altos. Made from 100% Blue Agave. Today we tried the Plata, Reposado and Añejo and what a treat. - thanks @wild5507!
Their Jimadores have passed on their harvesting techniques from family generations to generations. So it really is a family affair.
And 98% of their organic waste from production is composted and reused which makes big points on the sustainability front.
But what about tasting Notes?!?:
Citrus all the way through, fantastic peppery quality and of course that beautiful honeyed and herbal Agave flavour. 🍋
The Plata- white pepper, citrus, fruity, unmistakably agave.
The Reposado is aged for 6-8 months, building on the Plata with woody vanilla. 🍬
Finally, Añejo a lovely mouth fill from 18 months ageing which yields a dry fruit, almond and hugely peppery flavour. 🥜
Highly accoladed tequilas, which have definitely got the spirit level seal of approval. Can’t wait to try again soon🔥🍸🌞.
