Whenever we mentioned we were going to the Bekaa Valley, people would say you must eat at Shams Restaurant! Now I know why and you should too! The menu is extensive from Lebanese mezze to grilled meats and seafood and the service is fast and attentive. This place is hugely popular and can seat at least 500+. We ordered a ton of different dishes to try and the bill only came to US40, surely would have paid almost double in Beirut. At the end of the meal Scott took the boys to the outdoor area for ice cream but we didn't realize they would bring complimentary bowls of peaches, plums, grapes and melon. What started as a humble bakery has now branched to this main restaurant, at least a dozen smaller Al Shams eateries and even an upscale hotel!
