Ok, so who’s discovered the new “screen time” function in the iOS update? I am quite, quite horrified by how easily I munch up time on here. Been thinking a lot about how I can fit more into my week lately, and mostly that’s drifted to time on my phone. So I’ve set some rules: no screen time between 10pm and 7am (apart from checking the weather, switching Sonos on and setting my alarm), greyscaling my phone the rest of the time and blocking out phone-off, email-off writing time (beyond the day job) for at least four hours a week. Even that 90 mins between waking up and getting access to my phone made a difference this morning. In the meantime: here’s a dahlia I found in Fitzrovia last week.

Meal Prep! People ask me all the time about different diets and what I think is the best...I am asked daily what my meal prep looks like and how it works.
In my experience, Diet Trends are not always the key to long term goals or goals that provide flexibility for human evolution and growth. I find that they offer a lot of powerful marketing that convince people “Carbs” are evil and offer instant results that do not last or lead to a lifestyle that is sustainable. I do believe that a balanced meal prep that regards your personal goals can support you as you evolve and be the key to success More so that exercise alone. Hence the phrase “You are what you eat!” That being said, What you eat aides your focus, stamina, deficiency, gain, and energy to name a few. A “Meal Prep” is NOT one size fits all. It is and should always be a personalized plan based on your Height, Weight, Activity Levels, and Goals. This personalized plan is based on a scientific method of calibration in ratios of “Macros” depending on your goals the Ratios of Carbohydrates, Proteins, and Fats fluctuate. In my opinion A “Meal Prep” is all about staying ahead of your meals so you are prepared for success! Taking the time to INVEST in what you are putting into your body and WHY? “Prep” is a term used for preparing, perhaps in advance. Preparing your meals for the day or two so that you don’t have to think about it when the hunger kicks in, or even if your day gets busy! Having your meals every few hours supports healthy blood sugar levels and creates a well running metabolism! As a Fitness Competitor and veteran in the Fitness Industry I truly believe that A Meal Prep is a very reliable means of sustainable health and wellness. The “I could’ve sold this kimono 10 times over this morning” edition of the lift chronicles. Im not a big fan of the morning commute. I’m not a fan of any commute to be fair but the first one of the day is a real struggle for me. Anxiety you see 🙄😕 Anyway, I always have to wear ear phones, even if I’m not listening to stuff, just to muffle the sound of mundane chit chat, sniffling, chewing.... basic noise. So this morning I was listening to H.E.R on full blast and didn’t hear the lady on the train asking me about my kimono. She then tapped me. I thought she wanted me to move, so I did. She didn’t realize I couldn’t hear her. Well anyway, she was asking me about my kimono. The carriage was relatively quiet so everyone was staring. I explained to her I did it. She went on about how it looked amazing and I grew more and more mortified. A couple more women agreed and I wanted the earth to just swallow me up. They were lovely but it threw me. All the while the rational part of my brain wanted to say, “you can buy this one if you want, I sell them down the @lowermarshmarket.... blah blah blah” but I didn’t. I made myself as small as I could and prayed for my stop 🤦🏽♀️ When she got off, another woman asked me, then I heard two women talking about it as I queued for coffee.... I’m an extrovert trapped in an introverts body 🤷🏽♀️ welcome to my world. Happy Friday all.... ITS HERE!!!! 😀 .

Yesterday was a whirlwind I have never felt so authentic and in my zone! From Hair and Make Up to a killer Photo Shoot with the infamous @noeldaganta But with all do respect my favorite moment of the Day was this one right here. A very humble moment at the crack of dawn doing my Fasted Cardio and looking around at the room and realizing I was not alone today. Today as I did my cardio I was not in the dark gettin it done while others were sleeping. I was in a room with WORLD CLASS CHAMPIONSHIPS and like the true athletes we are we rise and put our time in. Nose down doing the work! In front of me was @laurensimpson and to my left was @jaesung_wbffpro to name a few. Together we are one and together we are strong! “The Best of the Best” Tears swell and my heart fills with an incredible amount of pride. For I am not alone anymore, I am finally with my kind of People! 🙏❤️ I will never forget this moment and I feel so blessed to be given all it takes to be the Champion I am. ❤️🙏 The Worlds Beauty Fitness Fashion Show is more than just a glamorous event it’s the epitome of excellence and vigor in an industry of stellar humans preforming with high standards because they too realize their purpose and blessings! I’ve spent the past five days driving on barely-there roads, single-track roads and twisty-windy roads covered in cows; peering out of the windows of ferries, losing the footpath (less good, albeit funny) and feeling the weather in my bones. Four hardly read books in my bag and nary a word written but lots of long chats and early nights. It’s been bloody lovely.
Be powerful...and make the decision to RISE. There may not always be a set of rules on how, make them as you go. You may not have all your friends and loved ones to cheer you on, let them go. Sometimes the best investment in your health is doing nothing. No gym, no goal-crushing, no social calendar. That’s what today was for me. Exhaustion and stress finally caught up with me and this last weekend I smacked right up against the proverbial wall. I was depressed, I had a headache that was taking up permanent residence, my joints ached and made me feel like an old woman, and all I wanted to do was sleep for days. I was TIRED, deep in my bones. I knew that if I didn’t take my body’s cries for help seriously, I’d end up sick or injured, so I got a sub for my Zumba class this morning and let myself just be today. Self care is a trendy hashtag these day, but for good reason: you can’t crush goals if you’re crushed. You know, the cliché airplane oxygen mask analogy. But self care doesn’t have to be an Insta pic-worthy mani/pedi, beauty treatment, or retail therapy conquest... sometimes it’s a morning walk around the ‘hood, doing nothing noteworthy during nap time, and a trip to Target to simply get your son sidewalk chalk, in all its unglamorous, no-makeup-topped-with-a-baseball cap glory.

In honour of the #pigeonpose 'Kapotasana'. We all carry a lot of tension in our bums!!! This works the gluteal, thigh and piriformis muscles. It is amazing as it gets the blood flowing to the hip area and really opens them up. This helps to alleviate and prevent sciatica.
