Despite I'm not an opera lover do I want to share this info.
The Barber of Seville.
On photo 1 you see in the distance the building where the legend of the opera the "Barber of Seville" comes from. Located nearby the famous palace Real Alcazar. On picture 2 you clearly see the balcony where a famous scene from the opera would have taken place. Personally, I find the 1st photo more beautiful.
You can visit legendary places but also localizations that appear in operas, such as the spectacular Rosina’s balcony from The barber of Seville, which is located in Plaza Alfaro, between Callejón del Agua and the Jardines de Murillo.
The balcony in Seville, that tour guides say inspired the opera Barber of Seville by Rossini in 1816.
In the opera, the balcony is the setting for this scene: Young Count Almaviva is in love with Rosina, ward of the cantankerous Dr. Bartolo. With the help of some local musicians, he serenades her outside her balcony window (“Ecco ridente”), but she does not appear.
The Barber of Seville, a comic opera by Italian composer Gioachino Rossini. The barber of the title is Figaro, whose impressive entrance aria with its repeated proclamations of his own name—is one of the best-known of all opera arias.

A few pictures of the interior of the Mezquita-Cathedral.
The Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba is the most important monument of all the Western Islamic world, and one of the most amazing in the world. The evolution of the “Omeya” style in Spain is resumed in the history of the Mosque of Cordoba, as well as other styles such as the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque of the Christian architecture.
It seems as if the place that the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba occupies nowadays was dedicated, from ancient times, to the cult of different divinities. In this same place, and during the Visigoth occupation, another building was constructed, the “San Vicente” Basilic. On top of this basilic and after paying half of the site, the primitive Mosque was constructed. This basilic, of rectangular shape, was shared for a period of time between Moslems and Christians. After the Muslim enlargement, the Basilic became property of Abderraman I, who destroyed it to construct the first “Mosque Alhama” or main Mosque of the city. Nowadays, some of the constructive elements of the Visigoth building are integrated in the first part of Abderraman I.
The Great Mosque has two different areas: the courtyard or “arcade sahn“, where the “alminar” (minaret) is constructed (beneath the Renaissance tower) by Abd al-Rahman III, and the “haram” or praying hall. The interior space consists of a forest of columns and red and white arches giving a strong chromatic effect. The site is divided into 5 different areas, corresponding each one of them to the different expansions that have occurred on it.

The Jewish Quarter is the best-known part of Cordoba's historic centre, which was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1984 and is one of the largest in Europe. To the northwest of the Mosque-Cathedral along the city wall, its medieval streets have a distinctly Moorish flair to them, reminiscent of the Jews' prosperity under the Caliphate of Cordoba. This neighborhood's history is a history of the Caliphate and of the West. Of special interest are the Synagogue and Souk.
Jews formed a part of Cordoba's cultural mix from as early as the 2nd Century until their expulsion from Spain in 1492. Under the Moslems, both Jews and Christians were given religious freedom and self-governing communities. This arrangement was profitable to their rulers, who improved their tax revenue with special household taxes for non-Moslems.

Maestranza. (Seville). The Plaza de toros de la Real Maestranza de Caballería de Sevilla is a 12,000-capacity bullring in Seville, Spain. During the annual Seville Fair in Seville, it is the site of one of the most wellknown bullfighting
festivals in the world. It is a part of the Real Maestranza de Caballería de Sevilla, a noble guild established for traditional cavalry training.
The ring itself is considered one of the city's most enjoyable tourist attractions and is certainly one of the most visited. As a stage for bullfighting, it is considered one of the world's most challenging environments because of its history, characteristics, and viewing public, which is considered one of the most unforgiving in all of bullfighting fandom.
The bullring construction began in 1749 of a circular ring on Baratillo Hill to replace the rectangular bullring that was previously located there. 🇪🇸

The little town Rubite.
The tiny hamlet of Rubite is an ideal destination for nature lovers, with the perfect combination of the sierra together with both sandy and rocky beaches.
Situated in the shadow of La Maroma, the highest peak in the Sierra Tejeda, the village has many points of historical interest, such as the three 12th century wells located around the village. Next to one of these is the Loma del Aljibe viewpoint, from which you can see all of the Alpujarra sierra and down to the sea, which is 15km away. In the centre of the village, visitors can discover the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Inmaculada, which has an image of the Virgen del Carmen from the 16th century still wearing her original clothing.

The Plaza del Potro is a public square in the Spanish city of Córdoba.
Rectangular in shape, one end of the plaza has a fountain topped by the figure of a colt with its front legs raised holding a sign with the coat of arms of the city. This Renaissance-style fountain dates from 1577, and the colt which gives its name to the square was added a century later. Until 1847 was located on the opposite side of the plaza.
Since 1924, the other end of the square has a monument dedicated to the Triumph of the archangel Raphael.
Among the buildings overlooking the square is the famous Posada del Potro, mentioned by Cervantes in Don Quixote, in addition to the city's Museum of Fine Arts and the Museum Julio Romero de Torres.
The reference in "Don Quixote" can be found in the Penguin Classics edition, translated by John D. Rutherford, in Chapter III as " ... Potro in Cordova ...", and in the Barnes & Nobleedition, translated by Tobias Smollett, in Chapter III as " ... the spout of Cordoba ...". The much celebrated reference to the place and neighbourhood is made by an inn keeper making fun of Don Quixote with sarcastic chivalrous references to infamous brothels, disreputable districts and dens of iniquity.

#Spain 🇪🇸 #Andalusia  #Cordoba  2018 🇪🇸 The Plaza del Potro is a public square in the Spanish city of Córdoba. 🇪🇸 #sunset  #spain  #españa  #andalusi  #españa  #ig_spain  #ig_españa  #igers_spain  #bestview  #spanje  #spanien  #ig_cordoba  #juderia  #jewishquarter  #donquijote  #donquixote  #andalusia_joohnyA

The Judería de Córdoba,
JEWISH QUARTER
Córdoba's old Jewish quarter consists of a fascinating network of narrow lanes, more atmospheric and less commercialised than in Seville although souvenir shops have emerged.

This is not the best picture, but I was indignant about probably the only "shop" in the small village of Rubite. Who wants to do the shopping here? I met the owner and asked him if he also had water. He pointed out the water hose with valve on the ground. That is not an 'aqua mineral sin gas' for me.

Picture of the Mezquita-Cathedral.

Plaza de España (Seville)
The crescent-shaped Plaza de España is one of the most famous squares in Seville. In honor of the Ibero-American exhibition of 1929, various buildings were erected in the Maria Luisa Park, including this design by Aníbal González Álvarez.
The square has the shape of a huge semi-circle that is completely surrounded by buildings. These buildings formed the pavilion of Spain during the world exhibition of 1929. The majority of these buildings are used today by the government. At the bottom of these buildings are 52 tile mosaics, frescos depicting all the Spanish provinces in azulejos (typical Andalusian tiles). In the middle of the square is a fountain and the middle square is almost completely surrounded by a canal on which four bridges have been constructed representing the four ancient kingdoms of Spain (León, Castilla, Aragón and Navarra).
The square is 170 meters in diameter and has a half elliptic shape. This symbolizes the hold that Spain had in its former American territories. The view of the river Guadalquivir symbolizes the way forward to America.
In 1962 the Plaza de España acted as "Cairo Great Britain Army Headquarters" in the film Lawrence of Arabia. The square also served as a film set for Naboo in the movie Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones from 2002. In 2012 it was used as a film set in The Dictator.

A lot of orange trees in Seville
The many orange trees really give you a subtropical feeling, in the middle of and around the bustling center. According to the latest counts, there are more than 45,000 orange trees in the city (2012 stand). In the spring you can smell the delicious, gentle blossom scent throughout Seville, while in the winter you wake up at night from the oranges falling from the tree on the tin of parked cars. The first were ever planned by the Moors to provide the main walkways with shade and, in the event of extreme drought, to eat the same acid-bitter oranges for the moisture. Nowadays the oranges are transported to England after the harvest in February / March, making the famous sweet bitter marmalade.
