What wisdom can you find that is greater than kindness? // Jean Jacques Rousseau
some wonderful ladies who didn't all know each other got together last week. I'm hoping this week for the same. Extend out those invitations and create your tribe. Dont be afraid to reach out to new people either. Can't wait to meet more of you badass ladies!
9 years later.
I always try to look back over the past year and see how I’ve changed.
Have I grown any?
Have I appreciated this life I’m so lucky to live?
Do my friends realize how incredible they are?
I don’t want anyone to ever feel like they are alone. That the only way out is to take your life.
9 years ago you felt that way. It hurts knowing that.
The only thing I can do is learn.
Tell the people around me how much they mean to me
Push my friends so they can have success
Support them in every way
Push myself more.
Face fears, because at the end of the day I don’t want to think I missed out on something because I was scared.
I told myself this year I wasn’t going to let fear stop me. And for the most part I haven’t. Baby steps. (IE climbing with an insane fear of heights)
We have this one life to live so I’m going to laugh, love and enjoy it the best that I can. Be grateful for the choices that I’ve made to have a better life.
Well it's only noon and we've already had ourselves a day. 3am wake up call to tackle Grays and Torreys. Our friend, who is from San Fran and only got into town on Thursday, crushed it. Saw some majestic goats, crushed some summit beers, and enjoyed a picture perfect day. I'll be posting shots from this trip for awhile!
I've photographed five weddings in the past nine days, and I'm about to head out for another this afternoon, which natch means I can't stop dreaming of spending a quiet day in my hammock with a good book (and a bag of chips).
It feels hard to take a day off during wedding season, when there are so many photos to edit and emails to answer, but I think I've earned a day by myself in the woods next week!
Are you good at taking time completely off and away from your job, or do you tend to always be "on"?
The NutMeg guarantee:
1. All the laughs
2. Bad dad jokes/puns
3. Props. (😜😜)
4. Swearing (because let’s face it 14ers are tough and sometimes you need to curse)
5. Referencing Neature Walks
6. Over all a solid time. I mean why are we doing this if we can’t be silly and have fun along the way?! Life is too short to be worrying about what others think of you. 🙏🏼🙏🏼
The San Juan National Forest: my favorite in Colorado! ❤️
It is now closed until further notice, and until we get some rain here. Over 30,000 acres have burned in the wildfire. It's devastating to see the places you love be destroyed by the climate, and there's nothing you can do to stop it.
If you are camping this weekend, please be aware of your fire. Put it out at night and when you leave your campsite. We don't need any more of the beautiful forests we love to enjoy going up in flames.
double tap if ya ready to #movebetterish + #feelbetterish ...

#tbt to this shot of Sniktau as seen from Herman's Gulch. This is one of my very favorite shots that I've found, and I've probably shot this angle under virtually every weather condition - it's a great look when there are some moody clouds hanging on the mountain too!
