Last year- same time. Gefangen im #ravencycle meiner #ravenboys 😍
Gansey-und Ronanverrückt. Hingebungsvolle Liebe! Auch wenn mich das Ende der Reihe nicht überzeugen konnte. Wer war euer Liebling? Wer muss es noch lesen? #wenderraberuft
Details, details, details.
It is often the little things that will tell us the most about your character; but how do you tell the difference between what is an important detail and what is "fluff"? Furthermore, how do you know when to bring in the important details?
In your first draft, anything goes. Having every detail about your characters here (or on the side) is actually quite useful to help flesh them out. When you go through and edit, ask yourself WHY your readers need to know that detail: Does it show something about their personality that is intrinsic to the plot? Does it serve as symbolism? Is it "Chekhov's gun"? -
Next: Do you deliver the info in a natural or captivating way, or does it read like a police report? Is it spaced out, or a in a lump?
Use this picture as a writing prompt: how would you describe the details here? How would you naturally bring it into your world? What significance would you give it?
Let me know what comes of it! Comment or message 😘

What is your favourite toast topper? At the risk of sounding like a millennial, mine is...avocado. *
On OPwrites.com today (link in profile), I share my recipe for avocado toast that includes the easiest (and tastiest!) four ingredient guac. Please note that avocado is toxic to dogs and Buster didn't consume any - he's just the unpaid and unfed model. *
On Wednesday, I'd like to share my best tips to beat writers' block, or another snippet from Twist of Fate or The List. Do you have a preference? Let me know down below and I'll be happy to oblige! *
Happy Monday, everyone. *

“Give your readers as much information as soon as possible. To hell with suspense. Readers should have such complete understanding of what is going on, where and why, that they could finish the story themselves, should cockroaches eat the last few pages.” — Kurt Vonnegut. Had to add a reminder so I don’t go back on my bullshit as I revise this chapter. #amwriting#amediting#thesisI#kurtvonnegut

Sometimes my reading stack gets a little insane, and this picture is one example. I'm in the middle of three of these titles, and commitments to read three more. And then I go check out a ridiculous number from the library due to temporary book gluttony. My lovely friend @shanaegge gave me a copy of Clock Dance yesterday, and I'm thrilled we share Anne Tyler love! I'll be shocked if I actually make it to my library stack, but I hope to finish the other seven before mid-August. My July reading has been sidelined by a secret project 😉 but I'm slowly getting back on track. Does your stack ever get out-of-whack? #amreading#amwriting#amediting#booklover#bookstack
Finishing up the #Betrayed novellas. Dying to know what’s happening next? It’s coming soon! If you need to know what you’re missing, my debut romantic suspense novel is available now!
#NowBooking novel critiques and developmental editing • I have openings at the end of July and the middle of August • ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Developmental Editing focuses on the BIG PICTURE: the plot, the characters, and the conflict, to start. It looks at the content, not the grammar. I offer three different Developmental Editing options. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My Developmental Edit includes everything that my Critique does, such as an editor’s memo, but it also includes a more in-depth assessment of each chapter, as well as margin comments as needed throughout your manuscript, using Track Changes. I also provide you with a timeline sheet, character sheets, and resources that will help you during the next steps in the writing, revising, and publishing process. Some points that I touch on in my Developmental Edit:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
