I apologize in advance for rambling, and secondly this can be a touchy subject in some cases. Just be sure to take care of yourself.
Toxic relationships are everywhere. In many forms. They’re scary and hard to get out of. It’s mental and emotional abuse. And if it’s physical then at that point you should know it’s not right.
I’ve encountered a few different types of toxic relationships..
Some examples can be:
Extreme clinginess. When they keep you from talking to/seeing others, when they consistently ask where you are and what you’re doing, who you’re with, etc. Sometimes the red flags can be very minor, they can say simple things but if it makes you uncomfortable then you probably know deep down that something is wrong.
Another flag is manipulation. It can always start out harmless and minor of course. It can go from making you stay home for some needy reason to forcing you to end other friendships with people, to even trying to force you to deny who you are. Whether it be your gender, sexuality, your work, anything really. It’s unhealthy.
My last example is guilt-tripping which can also fall under manipulation. Of course there’s so many examples that can fall under this. You could be guilt tripped into doing something you probably don’t want to, or NOT doing something. The worst form of this I’ve seen is being threatened that a person will hurt themselves, you, someone you love, or even end their own lives in order to get things their way.
Of course there’s so many shades of unhealthy and toxic relationships. Just know you and only you are responsible for yourself. If someone has toxic behaviors or traits, then you aren’t responsible and you don’t need to fix them. You need to take care of your own wellbeing and focus on what’s best for YOU.

Hi! where do I start?
First off, hi I’m Alexia and I’ve been practicing photography for 5 years now. I enjoy doing an array of different types of photography (mostly concert photography). Last year I kind of fell out with my photography as school began to resume. I also lost a little bit of my creative spark, so I went on a trip to Washington to see if I could gain a little of it back and I did! As of now, I am taking advanced photography at my school and I can’t wait to get my creative side flowing again!
I am also doing re-edits of my previous photographs so stay tuned for that!
For right now though enjoy this photo I took today for a class project titled “Learning To See” 🖤
