So I receive my first critique on a sketch I drew over the weekend. Come to find out. I was going completely outside the scope of what was expected of the assignment.
In the same scope. The motto this cycle is to #BreakAllTheRules and dammit that's the plan! Of course in a modest way.
Here's my take on the project. I need to create a 3rd #Composition - Type and Image: type and image married fluidly and elegantly. Bring together typographic form with some sort of "found imagery". I'm banking on my found imagery to be some sort of stock pattern background. It's universal. Lite on any type of production budget.
So I'm breaking them, in hopes to break them beautifully, deliberately, and well. .

Research and Destroy! One of my recent projects. This was the biggest piece of metal I've gotten to chew on so far. Over 600 lbs and 3500in3 of fresh Billet 6061 Aluminum. So pumped to be in the field of machining. It's always teaching me and pushing my limits. I love getting to do projects like this. From start to finish modeling the CAD, CNC programming, setting up the job, hitting cycle start, stopping to empty chip trays multiple times and sweep after it was a 16 hr day, but I would happily do it all over again tomorrow if I had to. Carving something from nothing using robots has always been so rad to me. Super grateful to have opportunities like this one.
