We’re on a road trip! Want to know some favorite tips and happy ideas of mine? .
🚦🚙🚗1. Tollway blessing: pay for the person behind you on the tollway! It’s such a gift to surprise someone on the road. My kids and I pray for that person after we drive away. My kids loved this and asked each time we went through the toll booth to pay for the person behind us. .
🆗2. Play the license plate game with your kids- it’s fun to keep them busy between movies or reading with this game mama used to play before movies in the car! .
🍱3. Use big rectangular Tupperware or plastic trays (deep) to easily contain drive through lunches or snacks. This way bags and wrappers stay in one place instead of all over the car. — my favorite tip while driving solo with my lambs. .
💧4. Peppermint, lavender and Awaken essential oils. - P&L are great for calming tummies and P&A are great for a little boost when you feel groggy. - I put behind my neck and even swipe on the air vents to help with alertness.
👛👜🛍5. Cute bags: I love to pack for road trips in many different bags. That way when I need to grab something it’s always organized. For example: my towels are rolled into a small laundry basket, our beach gear and goggles etc. Are always in my favorite @scoutbags tote. All of our raincoats and warm fleeces/sweats are in my @lillypulitzer portable tote. If we’re staying overnight I pack all of us in one @verabradley duffle and the rest of our gear for the long term in our individual suitcases. I’m a visual person so I love organizing this way so I remember which bag contains what! .
🛌Where are my nappers?🙋♀️ Today is #NationalNapDay , so I thought I would share some nap facts with you & a few, funny memes about napping.😉 While napping isn't for everyone, as it can disturb some people's nighttime sleep routine, there are some pretty cool health benefits to having an afternoon siesta. 👍Napping can help to promote relaxation, reduce fatigue, increase alertness, support a healthy heart, improve mood, & improve performance, including quicker reaction times & better memory.💪 The best time of day to take a nap is mid-afternoon, around 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. and keeping your naps short (between 10-30 minutes) will help to reduce feelings of grogginess afterward.😊 Keep in mind, however, that excessive napping & feeling tired all the time is often a sign of an underlying health condition.👎 When my own health was suffering, I was a chronic napper & I could BARELY stay awake during the daytime. Even though I was napping between 3-5 times a day, I STILL felt exhausted all the time & would even nod off, while I was driving.😔 Sometimes, I would have to pull over to the side of the road, just to catch a quick nap.😴 That type of napping is NOT healthy & is definitely a sign that your body has an imbalance.
