Additional notes: it takes about 9 cups of spruce tips to make the 3 cups of spruce tip juice. Also, I boiled my spruce tips for about 5 minutes, put the lid on my Dutch oven, turned off the heat, and allowed the tips to steep overnight, then resumed the recipe the next morning.
