within the past couple years, I moved from Qatar to Texas, from Texas to Florida, and from Florida to Alaska. my life is so much different than what I could have ever expected or wanted. this picture is over a year old, and so much inside and outside of me has changed. I need more pictures of myself, considering how long it’s been taking me to find pictures of me when I search. when you don’t like yourself or the change you’re experiencing, it’s hard to find the desire to even see yourself. sooner or later I’m praying that all of this will feel for the better rather than not. I haven’t been open about what’s been happening in my life, and I think it all needs to change.

I did deadlifts with the rogue trap bar today; it forced me to keep my feet closer together and use my legs more than my back, which is great for me with a hip replacement, or if you have a nagging back injury give these a try!!! #keephammering#uahunt#alaskalife#camhanes#roguefitness
Last Friday, as my wife and I were pulling into the post office parking lot, we had to stop and let one BIG bull moose cross slowly in front of us. No big deal, nothing out of the ordinary. I ran into the post office and as we were leaving, circling our way around, a second bull followed the first and began to eat from a mountain ash tree with the first. We drove home and I jumped in my truck with my gear in the back seat with the plan to hang out with them and hope for some interaction with people on the streets or at the shopping mall they were near. They were in the same place when I got back some 15 minutes later.
I walked along with them for over an hour as they walked around looking for eats. They would often times look around to see just where the other one was at. It seemed they were traveling buddies. The lead moose walked into the parking area of the Anchorage school district maintenance buildings— quite a large complex. Several people from ASD came out to see the pair and some took photos. The trailing bull walked a bit further and walked into the next door landscaping / nursery fenced back lot. They were now separated by a foreboding cyclone/rock fence. The two obviously wanted hang and travel together as I watched them constantly looking for the other. At this point though they just seemed to be wondering… “hmmm what the heck? How do we get around this obstacle?”. I followed the first one as he meandered all over the ASD compound seemingly looking for a way out. Here’s a few photos made during the time.
One of our favorite things to do when the snow is non existent and there is no skiing or sledding to be had is to find ice to break. Go check out our newest video and make sure to share it with your kids. Clickable link in our profile. Let’s face it, this time of year Alaska is dark. It is dark in the morning, it’s dark in the afternoon, and if it is raining you just never really see the sun 🌥. This week we’ll take a step back from the blues and grays offered by nature and revisit some of the lush greens from last summer.

Everything is gratitude 🙏 I remind myself often of this #truth . It's more than knowing how much one has in some material sense. Nope, it's the realization that somehow I am alive although spiraling on a tiny rock in a vast #cosmos of space, spinning around a #fringe star. #whoa When I remember this #truth then #awe and #gratitude#flow so #beopen to the #grace all around you 🌞 #heartrealm#om
