While in Birmingham, we stayed at HOOVER Met RV park. It was the closest park to our friends house, and the most affordable in the area. I knew after looking at reviews and photos online that it would be a glorified parking lot... and that it was! 45 long pull thru, full hook up spots, located in a parking lot behind the arena. If you go to book, take a look at the satellite images, if you can set up next to one of the curbs with a larger tree, you’ll at least have some shade and “yard” space. For our needs, the park suited us well.
The biggest gripe I have with it Park is the reservation system. You book your spot online and prepay, so we spent some time booking the site we wanted because of trees and such. When we arrived, another RV was already in our spot. The guy next door said the same thing happened to him, so he just chose another open spot. After searching for an employee to no avail, we did the same thing. There was no way to know if we were taking someone else’s spot, so the domino effect could just continue. There is no office, no staff, just a box of registration forms in case you didn’t do it online ahead of time. But because they don’t mark the sites at all, if someone comes in Monday and picks an open spot, he can stay for up to 30 days. Doesn’t matter if someone else has booked the site for Tuesday or any future date. There is a phone number online, and one on the registration board, but they each give you a second number to call, and that voice recording just tells you to get the information on their website, then promptly hangs up.
If this is how they run their park- first come, first serve - that’s fine. But then it should be advertised as such. And there should be a real live person available either in person or on the phone for questions or issues in the park.
Overall- we would recommend as long as you understand what you’re getting 👍

“My Least Favorite Life”
The nights that I twist on the rack
Is the time when I feel most at home .
This is my least favorite life
The one where I’m out of my mind
The one where you’re just out of reach
The one where I stand, and you fly
I’m wandering in the shade
And the rustle if falling leaves
A bird on the edge of a blade
Lost now forever
My love, in a sweet memory
