Me + Mat 🙏🏽 My practice waxes and wanes now, where I used to have the luxury of being militant. Instead of mourning mornings that were once all mine, I’m celebrating the chiselled practice that remains. Dedicating the majority of my time to motherhood does not lessen my commitment to the practice, it heightens my intuition and empowers me to be magically efficient. Even in savasana. #mypractice#dontforgetaboutyours#yoga#liveinlove
🚫DONT FUCKING DO IT!🙅♀️
I don’t care who he/she/they are, how fly they look, or who they roll with. Don’t ever sacrifice yourself in order to fit into someone else’s life.
Give & take is important in a relationship, but it’s NEVER okay when it impacts the foundation of WHO you are.
And Don’t You Dare Change 💋
Shine bright & be you in all that you do. Including your relationships!
“I think we’d like life to be a train. You get on, you pick your destination, and get off. And it turns out to be a sailboat. And every day you have to see where the wind is and check the currents and see if there’s anybody else on the boat that can help you out. But it’s a sailboat ride. And the weather changes and the current changes. It’s not a train ride.”

“Patience is a form of wisdom. It demonstrates that we understand and accept the fact that sometimes things must unfold in their own time.”
— Jon Kabat-Zinn
In a world where instant gratification abides it can be challenging to be patient, challenging to find peace in the simple present moment. Is your mind moving faster than your environment? Are you seeking more stimulation than what actually is? “””””””””””””””””””””””””””””””
Yoga teaches us the pace of patience. You can’t force it too fast. You must build to openness and strength. Patience is a choice, a practice, when you fail just choose to come back.
I've been trying to soak up these last weeks of summer by moving my body a lot, spending time in parks, walking, running, biking, etc. How are y'all spending these dog days of summer? Want to come move with me?
Notable and time-sensitive August events as follows: *Yoga in the Park, Sunday August 19, Hampden Park, 10:30am, FREE - the last one I'll be teaching this season! *August will be my last month teaching at @yogasolmn.
Remember the importance of taking care of YOU! Only when our well is full can we scoop out authentic and sustainable caring and support for others! Do something sweet for yourself today!

Woke up to a follow from this Glorious Human this morning and felt called to share a taste of her wisdom.
Allow yourself to break down.
Not just a little bit.
Because the little bits continue to linger.
Until you are empty
It’s only then
That there is space
To return to fullness
There is so much truth to this!
Have you given yourself permission to break down & let it all go?
I saw the @pranamat challenge floating around IG and had to give it a try this morning!
My favorite time to step on my @pranamat Is first thing in the morning to get my blood circulating and create a natural energy for my body ☀️☺️ I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to stay for 1 minute, but after 30 second or so it started to feel wonderful!
If you have a @pranamat Join the challenge 💛 :Post a video standing on Pranamat ECO mat with bare feet! Don’t forget to tag @Pranamat and put #pranamatchallenge to share your emotions and feelings with us!
For every single video, we donate 1$ to the charity Global Movement to Ocean Protection🐠! If you can handle this for the whole minute, then $5 will be given to the charity!
Warm up your feet and get ready for this challenge! ✨

We talk a lot about belonging. We yearn deeply for a sense of belonging. I have come to realise that for lack of a better understanding we say we want belonging but what we really ask for is guardianship
The wish there was an explanation to come and make sense of what’s happening to you and why. If someone could come and comfort you with a reasonable story of how and why. Give you protection from getting hurt by life, by people. Give you someone you can just trust. You wish they could help you shape yourself in this map-less life, in this rule-less world. That, is guardianship
Life stories and explanations about your past and how things happen can make sense & are very seductive, but life in not a Sudoko game where everything falls perfectly into place.
Life is life. It doesn’t need to make sense
Before we have fully realised our own powers we don’t seem to fully know what it is like to belong to someone else
Leaving the protective wings of guardianship and discovering your own powers you find belonging as the natural way to be. It’s not something you need to work hard for but a natural way of claiming your space in life. The journey to realise belonging starts with realising your own powers, claiming your own space in life & the willingness to walk on a map-less journey with an open heart
Belonging, just like Love or creativity are a states of being, induced by coming into your own. .
Got a sweaty practice in.

This is what happiness looks like. I manifested this experience. Once upon a time sitting at a table in Vegas, laughing, talking and growing was “a wish”. .
I’m currently creating a workbook with the same tips, tips, techniques and information I’ve learned after over a decade of trial and error with the Law of Attraction and Manifesting my reality. I want you to experience your best life, right now. There’s more to this and there’s more to you. #BeGreater#AimTrue
These two oils 🤤 might be my new faves. And they only arrived to my doorstep last Saturday.
LITSEA ✨ All your citrus dreams rolled into one beautiful fruit hailing from East Asia. Emotional qualities: Uplifting, energizing, rejuvenating, relaxing, tranquil, & promotes a positive mood. Also supportive for: digestion, sleep, immune system, cleaning/cleansing, skin, & respiratory system.
MANUKA ✨ I already knew I loved Manuka honey from New Zealand. This oil is gold (literally look at the label & packaging 😜) & smells like pure, sweet, mild nectar. Emotional qualities: grounding, relaxing, strength, courage. Mega supportive for: the immune system, beautifying the skin (wrinkles, fine lines), & so much more. This version comes in a handy pre-diluted roller.
These two oils are only available in the AUS/NZ markets but are free, yes that’s right FREE this month in the US with any 200pv (~$200) order. *If* you were even able to purchase them in the US they’d be $97, but you can’t. So snag ‘em this month for free.
Promo available to current AND new customers, so if you want help getting these, send me a DM. Check my Insta Story Highlight “AUG PROMO” for more info.
More food pictures, because when I went vegan 5 years ago and vegetarian 7 years ago (note: I no longer put myself in a box...hence the eggs 😂 pasture raised, I might add ☝️) I would have NEVER thought I would eat Kale on the daily. I feel like ONE It is a stereotypical food item that people feel like they "must" eat and enjoy to be a hardcore veg. (Spoiler: you don't have to eat and enjoy everything, yay!) TWO It gets a bad wrap (my whole family basically doesn't get my obsession). It SO versatile! And here is my fave as of lately: stove-top crispy, cajun kale on top of...EVERYTHING (eggs, favorite savory bowls, tacos!) ---
Just heat your pan to medium...massage bite-sized kale pieces with a teeny extra-virgin olive oil, toss in the pan and add Himalayan sea salt and cajun seasoning...takes only 5 min to crisp up like deliciousness.
I don't do a lot of how-to's unless I am super passionate and in love 😂 so try it and let me know what you think, friend! 🌿 #liyyogi#tiuteam#yogimama#eateverydamnday
“No matter who we are and how lonely we may be, the world is there full of its imagination. The harsh moments and the exciting times call out, over and over, announcing our place in the family of things.” (Mary Oliver)
Yoga offers a way for us to engage in a process of personal inquiry so that we can understand ourselves better and ultimately move toward a place of contentment and happiness. I’ve found that what makes me the happiest is feeling better about the current state of the world and know that I’m making a difference toward the people around me. I just recently published a new article to share with you what it means to follow your bliss and lead a life of purpose. It’s titled “Living Yoga: Dharma and Activism” and you can find on my blog. www.havelovewillyoga.com link in bio! Thank you! 📸 @peteagphoto
I had such an amazing day today. I did some yoga in the am, then answered some emails & had an extended business meeting in the afternoon where I met a very special soul & did some more yoga! What more can you ask for? How was your day? What small success can you celebrate today? What are you especially proud of that came about today? Have a lovely evening everyone 💙 #compasspose
I’m a yogi Care Bear. 🐻🌈🧘🏼♀️
Half Camel (Ardha Ustrasana) is one of my favorite backbends (or as I like to think of them, front-body openers). I often feel like my hips are lost in space when I do regular Camel, but this variation allows me to square and access deep levels of my psoas (read: YUM). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You can read my digital how-to @yogajournal under The Art of the Pivot, or swipe ⬅️ to watch me instruct modifications and the full pose (taken @detroityogalab over the weekend).
In your (backbend) feelings? 🕺🏼💃🏼 Feel free to express them — give them space to live!

Put on my Yoga pants, got out my Acupressure Mat, and braved the @pranamat Challenge 🔥👊
Are your feet tough enough? @pranamat is donating $1 to The Project AWARE (Global Movement for Ocean Protection) and $5 for every successful badass to withstand the full 60 seconds. LOVE when companies give back 💖
Be sure to post your video and tag them along with using the #pranamatchallenge hashtag. **Make sure at least one foot remains on the mat at all times**
I’ve had this mat for about a year now and I LOVE it. Being a Mama with sore shoulders and a neck injury it’s one of my favourite ways to up my self-care and give back to my tired muscles. I often keep it at my desk for podcast editing sessions, or lounge with it on the couch after a long day of nursing. It’s amazing what a little increase circulation can do for loosening up tired and tense muscles.
But don’t put your shit on them🙅♀️
There is nothing wrong with celebrating another Woman who’s putting in the work. Be it the arduous mental work to reprogram her thinking, or the physical work of actively caring for her beautiful body. Go on and give her a clap 👏 but don’t project your judgement/shit on her while doing so.
Why are we so fucking fixated on weight? Because literally EVERY SINGLE SYSTEM has built us up to believe that our worth is directly impacted by it. That our health is completely controlled by it. That if we have fat we’re killing ourselves.
But here’s the thing that every single Health textbook, class, and doctors office fucking missed. WE’RE NOT ALL THE SAME! 😱
We’ve literally grown up being measured from the day we’re born with a chart that assumes we’re identical. This is utter fucking horseshit! And this is why we’re so Fucking stuck on this. There is no perfect size, number, weight or marker for perfect health. So why are we only ever praising women for weight loss?! Why are we not celebrating them for simply caring for themselves NO MATTER their size?!
This is what our last post was about. Recognizing how backwards our thinking and engrained our judgement is because it starts at day 1. We’re placed on that scale fresh from our mothers and given a gold star of approval or a plan based on the numbers we receive. So why not take the fucking numbers out of it and simply do the things that we know nourish and fuel our bodies. Stop living and perpetuating a society that encourages calorie counting, restriction and disordered eating. Cause that shit will never serve us.
So do yourself and your fellow sisters a favour and check yourself. Do the work and find your own attachment and beliefs behind weight/size. You might surprise yourself with what you’ll discover.
Finally heading back to Durham County after working out of town for a spell. My blood and chosen family can get the full attention they deserve. But first lemme write this down.
1. Standing as witness to my patterns is the most useful time I’ve ever spent on this planet.
2. It’s important to be critical of my desire to feel pride.
3. Everything is in service to the ancestors, to the legacy, to the ones who came before and the ones who will come after. To the ones who never quit. Even if no one understands. Even if I am misunderstood.
4. I’m never alone- I am nothing if not the delicate line between shadows and morning mist.
Full page spread in the Sunday @nytimes- I think that was on my bucket list, daddy.

Teachers come in many forms. As far as #yoga is concerned, my students are among the best teachers I have. Yet there’s nothing quite as exhilarating as the experience of delving completely into the role of a full-blown student, hungry to learn! This past weekend I had the opportunity to do just that. Offering up mega gratitude to this genuinely bright soul, @kathrynbudig today, who also knows how to keep it light and attainable. I’m inspired and eager to share. #aimtrue everybody!!! 🎯💗✌️✨ #myyogajourney#itsaboutthejourney#yogateacher
💙If you can can control the risings of the mind into ripples, you will experience Yoga.💙
I started reading the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. There are nearly 200 sutras (or “threads”) upon which all types of mediation and Yoga as we have come to know it today are based. I have always wanted to deepen my practice beyond the physical asanas. In doing so I hope to find better control of my breath and consequently my mind. .
Joining in on a challenge of transitions for the next week and am starting day 1️⃣ with a flow from Eagle > warrior 3>crescent lunge. This video is sped up x4 as I have been trying to breath longer in poses and lengthen my flow. And lord knows you don’t want to see 2minutes worth of that 🤣 The stillness is a challenge, but one that is much needed 💗

“Educated people say sport is not for women,” says Deepika Kumari, an Olympic Archery athlete from India. “In our country, we say ‘ladies first’ for everything, but why not for sport and education? It’s because such people fear women’s success.”
Ladies First on Netflix is such an inspiration film. It’s sad. Its raw. But its overarching message encourages me and I hope it catalyzes more young women to take hold of their power as females to rise up, aim high and strive for their dreams.
I’m grateful for companies like @athleta who help spread this type of positive messaging and I’d like to build more opportunities to help educate & empower young women in sports, business, wellness and beyond. Do you have event ideas, communities that need support or resources to contribute to this mission? DM me!
To stay open
Even when the winds of countless past lives and loves
Sucking you into contraction, to
Don’t loose your guards
You can trust,
Until you can’t. .
It’s an imaginary threshold you’ve never dared to cross before
You stare at the horizon lines.
You might retreat, you might attempt to jump,
You just fall. .
And then again. Stay open
Let the heart expand.
In the middle of the Strom
As the waves wash you, and
You think you can’t take it
When the tides of forgotten memories
Attack your best wishes,
Stay open. Don’t fall.
You fall in love .
