miss you already Arkansas!!!
I am one happy gal when I can just be outside... Sitting, working on a roof, riding around, it doesn't matter. I just love how beautiful a testament it is of God's presence & love. Like look at this view!!!!
Julia looked at my yesterday during our shoot & said "you look like you like the country"... What gave it away? The camo or the boots?😂
When planning our wedding, we remembered our short time in Siena (about 45 minutes) and realized how much we loved the city and area. So we knew we wanted to head back there for our wedding. We were so happy we were able to go back with our friends and explore the town more. Even got the best meal of my life! Waiting for this trips film scans so reminiscing over some of our images from our last trip.
We’ve been so busy over here working and getting caught up on all kinds of things in order to get ready for opening day. I love that our kids enjoy being outdoors in all the elements. They have a blast at the river, the beach and on the mountains. The only activity they don’t favor is hiking but they try to do it with a good attitude... as long as we bring the good snacks. 😜
Appreciation post to the love of my life. God has truly blessed me. I’m so grateful to have spent almost 4 years getting to know this man and 2 years becoming his bestfriend. I don’t know what I’d do without him. ❤️ Photog: @kellykaufmanphotography #humboldtphotographer
Fall on the North Olympic Peninsula has been absolutely GORGEOUS this year. As the days get shorter, the nights get colder and the last leaves fall, I feel so blessed to have been a part of moments like these. ❤
— He started from the bottom now he’s here! I mean seriously Ryan’s the coolest. I’ve known him for quite some time now and getting to watch him grow into the young man he is today has been incredible!
Let me just tell you this photo doesn’t do state of Oregon justice. You’ve got to see it in person. Oregon waterfalls are bucket-list worthy!!! If you look closely you can spot my husband checking his fancy wedding band for steps and right behind him is our well-earned hidden gem. 🌎
We had to divert from our plan A to plan B when the weather permitted us to summit Mount Hood and as it turns out it was meant to be. It let us to THIS, we found ourselves alone entirely surrounded by wilderness. I don’t believe in perfection however this was downright PERFECT! Thank you for being my adventure buddy on a road and at home ALWAYS @drewfbarnes. 👌
I’ve been loving getting to know my 2019 couples! Every year I feel like I get blessed with the best couples ever! -
I still have some openings for next year if you know anyone who’s recently engaged! 💛
ATTENTION: Fantastics Beasts Crimes of Grindelwald hits the theaters this weekend. You better believe I’ll be sitting in an oversized chair, eating popcorn, watching one of the most legendary parts of Dumbledore’s story unfold before me. If you either A. Don’t know who Grindelwald is or (even worse) B. Don’t know who Dumbledore is, you’re missin’ out man.

If I created a Print Shop through my website where you could order professional prints to be shipped to you, would you be interested?? These would mostly be pretty landscapes / nature shots from my adventures around Oregon. .
Pictured here is the gorgeous ice blue Metolius River 🐟 in Central Oregon. .
All this cold weather makes me want to stay snuggled up in front of a fire...preferably with a spiked hot chocolate.
What’s your favorite hot beverage?
Second shooting with the oh-so-talented @natalie_schram.
Aunque no parece hacia muchísimo frío y aún así estaba lleno de fotógrafos esperando los últimos rayos de sol que a parte de iluminar así la montaña, teñía de rosado y violeta el fondo. La noche ahí fue lo peor ...
📓Title: Epic CX Race Day⠀
For those of you that haven't experienced CX racing before, cyclocross is a cross between road bike racing and mountain biking. Competitors race laps around a course featuring a variety of surfaces (pavement, grass, sand, gravel, dirt, snow, mud) while negotiating a number of obstacles that may require them to dismount and remount their bicycle.⠀
Over the next few days, I will be posting some images from the #2018cotn that took place this past weekend in #fortcollins ⠀
If you know this racer, tag 'em in the comments below 👇⠀

less than a month till I’m back in the desert, photographing more love stuff. thinking multiple trips to the desert are going to become an annual thing 💓 also I can’t get over this shot of @mattehnes & @gregorygoldin being beautiful grooms #manquet
I have never met 2 people that were as meant to be together as Brandon + Tiffany.
Their love for each other radiates from across the room.. I’m no Cupid or anything but I’m putting my bets on them being the cute old couple who slaps each other’s butts and holds hands everywhere they go. 🖤🙌🏼
Y’all, as much as I loooove fall and Christmas, I could really go for a warm sunny day and a good hike. ☀️ Oh, and a sunset time that isn’t before 6pm. 🤦🏻♀️ Anybody else feeling this way the past few days? Tell me I’m not alone!! ❄️
Hughes Ridge Trail
The history of Great Smoky Mountains National Park most often centers around the creation of the National Park in 1934, and with good reason. The low point of the economic depression, the mass mobilization of the civilian conservation corps to build public works, the beginnings of fair labor protections that would create a minimum wage on which workers could live. Across the sea Hitler’s declaration of total power created microseismic tremors of a second world war.
But before the National Park, before the purchase of a thousand tiny family farms, before the trails were named after the white settlers of the early nineteenth century, the Cherokee Nation thrived in the land that would become Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
The Hughes Ridge Trail was named after Rafe and Lizzie Hughes who settled at the foot of the mountains before 1814 and remained there for decades. Their neighbors included forty nine Cherokee families, who lived on land ceded to them by the treaty of 1819 (after a series of treaties that pieced away at the Cherokee Nation). This area was also home to Cherokee people who refused to be relocated during the forced removal of the Cherokee Nation from the southeast during the Trail of Tears in 1838. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Nation has grown to 14,000 members from 1,000 in 1850. The Qualla Boundary marks the distinction between the Eastern Band of the Cherokee Nation and GSMNP. It extends from the Cooper Creek Trail and includes a great swath of land stretching up toward the Hughes Ridge Trail.
The entirety of Great Smoky Mountains National Park is the ancestral land of the Cherokee Nation. I’m working on reflecting more accurate place based history of the trails of GSMP by integrating Cherokee History into my trail descriptions, but I have to consult different sources to do this, so it’s sometimes a clunky process to overlap the two. My main sources for this trail description are, as always, Hiking Trails of the Smokies by Great Smoky Mountains Association, Jacksonland by Steve Inskeep, and the Eastern Band of the Cherokees 1819 - 1900 by John R. Finger.
