Super duper excited to announce that I'm joining the @bangsshoes family this fall! I love supporting companies that make a conscious decision to uplift the communities around them and have a similar mission (to explore what the world has to offer!) If you are in need of new shoes, hit me up for a discount code, and we can be twinsies 👯♀️ #liveBANGS#BANGSambassador

Why are you on Instagram? I often ask myself this question and just can't seem to find a good enough answer.
I started out of boredom and loneliness when I suddenly found myself staying home with my first. Somehow the little mom community on here helped me be a part something.
When I was no longer lonely, I convinced myself that I will start a blog but that quickly failed as I just couldn't keep up.
And now I just have this new obsession with taking pictures of my family outside and seeing how others capture and edit their subject.
I am still not sure what I want out of this platform or even if I want it. But since I am here and you are a part of my journey (thank you by the way) here are a few things about me:
1. I am a pretty private person and thus find it extremely difficult to ask people personal questions.
2. I have a million and one hobbies. I just love learning new skills. Currently it is photography and videography. But I have also dipped my hands in and fell in love with decorating cakes, cooking, baking, sewing, scrap booking, journaling, coding, photoshop, and graphic design.
3. I have this deep love for exploring national parks and hiking mountains. .
4. I have no sense of style and dread shopping - online and in store.
5. I have a Masters of Teaching and teaching continues to be my passion even though I am not teaching right now.
6. I am from Afghanistan and married to a Bengali.
7. I love feeding people.
8. The hardest thing I have ever done in my life is to raise my two little ones.
Hello friends! We've missed you so 😢 But now.. we. are. BACK 🙌 After taking some time to resettle in the USA, we've returned to the travel/moving abroad world to continue to share our adventures! To kick us off @thebudgetmindedtraveler has invited us for a follow-up podcast 🤗 How's life been since we moved back? Have we been miserable & regretful or content & positive? 🤔🤷You'll have to listen to find out... (➡link in bio)
🚣 Paddle slower I hear bagpipes????... (SOUND ON!)
🌝 Last night with tears in my eyes, I saw a long kept dream come true. The Psalty Mavens took to the high seas (well the Tennessee River...) Together we paddled off into the sunset, were serenaded by a bagpipes (yes really) and returned to shore by the light of an almost full moon. .............
🦄 It was also the perfect time for my baggage to show up. And show up it did when my ego was bruised when I didn’t do everything perfectly (because obviously one should the first time they do something... not🙄). Despite the fact that Psalty Mavens is the opposite of badassery, I found my pride wanting to prove to everyone how much of a bada$$ I am- and in the midst of that I failed to make sure that everyone else felt comfortable and were having a good time. ............
🌚 And so I finished the evening with a choice- which wolf am I going to feed? The 🐺 that says “see you can’t do this”, “why should they listen to you”, “no one respects you as a leader.” OR the 🐺 who says “Yeah and did you notice that you organized a trip that included a sunset, a bagpipe serenade, a moonlit ending? A trip where no one was hurt, women bonded... What you did, to step out and start this thing took great courage, well done! Yes you did not do it perfect but you learned much, you are brave 🌈.” ............
I’m going with 🐺 #2 ♥️🧡💚💙💜 Big thanks to @riversports for helping to make this happen!
