"You will never be completely at home again, because part of your heart will always be elsewhere." 🌏
Ich liebe mein Zuhause. Aber im Herzen bin ich auf Reisen. Immer.
Victoria day-trip inspo by @rhianna_and_co 😍 With three easy family-friendly walks to explore, Loch Ard Gorge is a great way to take the kids away from the busy holiday chaos and retreat to these beautiful natural treasures!
One of our Christmas traditions is to do a non-traditional Christmas tree. And every year we put a lot of thought into what we’re going to do. This year we ended up deciding to cut down our own tree! Although we went a more traditional route, it was a bit of a whirlwind trying to get this bad boy. From getting the truck stuck in the snow, to Ollie having a huge (💩) accident which ended up in her wearing a jacket Only for the rest of the adventure, which meant Russ had to chop this down and drag it through knee deep snow by himself while I stayed in the truck with the kids (they were going nuts waiting, 🤪 I would of gladly traded places with Russ!). All in all, it was a fun adventure and Russ said totally worth it! #christmastime#familytime#adventurefamily#utah#utahrocks#utahmountains @russell.peters21 @skyandollie
THE DREAM... After many long conversations about the future and where we wanted to be in 5 & 10 years, we both agreed that our current city of East Grand Forks was not where we wanted to live long-term. 👫
It was a great community to raise a family in and lots of great people but as adventure seekers with a love for the beauty this world has to offer (and let's be honest...less winter 🌬), we decided it was time to consider an alternative plan. It had also been laid on our heart to travel full time in an RV 🚍for a year or two to go visit all 50 states and give our kids an experience of a lifetime. We knew we wanted to wait until Kadynn (our oldest) graduated so we had 3 years. We don't know exactly where we want to end up putting down roots again in 4-5 years but we are leaving that for God to help us figure out along the way! We had a dream ✅, now we needed a plan! ✅First things first. We knew we wanted to be debt free to give us the ultimate freedom to really be able to design this future that we desired. 📅Our rough draft looked like this as of April 2018.
Within 1 year (April of 2019), complete baby step #1 of $1,000 Emergency Fund, increase our monthly giving to $600, and pay off $45,000 in debt. 📅By the end of 2019, have an emergency fund with 6 months of living expenses saved.
📅By May of 2021 (when Kadynn graduates), have saved enough money to pay off the house.
Now typically, your house is not the issue and we may not have gone down the route we did if we were planning on staying in EGF forever but now that we knew that wasn't what we wanted, we knew it was time to put the house on the market. We loved our home. We poured over every detail of the build. But this would enable us to have a good start on these goals and was the only way we could accomplish all this 🏃♀️🏃♂️ in a 3-year window. It was going to be a big sacrifice but so worth it in the long run.
Check out our IGTV for a peek inside our trip to Great Sand Dunes National Park!
You’ll find this park in the Rocky Mountains and when you arrive it’s awe inspiring! To see these majestic dunes afoot snow capped mountains it’s a must see destination.
It’s elevation ranges from 7,500 feet above sea level to 13,000 feet at its peak.
This vast sandbox brings with it a playground for all ages. Whether your looking for a strenuous hike, a picturesque background, a hill to sled down or just some fun in the sand this National Park has something for everyone!
Finishing out Monday with a BIG smile on our faces! Tandem carries are great for when bigger kids are just too tired😴(or hangry🍏🍩) to walk anymore on their own. Onya Baby carrier’s ergonomic design and padded support make them optimal for carrying one in front and one in back!

Spent some quality time this morning recording another scripture song together.
This is our prayer for you:
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
Colossians 3:16-17 ESV
Keep singing laughing and memorizing scripture together!

He found it. The One. The only pumpkin that could fill his heart with joy and brighten his life with magic. The Only One. And then ::squish:: This year we had a weird freeze and it left most of the pumpkins gross, squishy, and just ew. But for a moment, a brief moment, he thought he’d found the one. Ain’t that how it goes sometimes. We think we have found the thing. The thing to bring us joy, to brighten our world, and then ::squish::. It was only an illusion, a house of cards, a squishy pumpkin. During the consumerism of the holidays it is nice to remember that no thing, no present, no gourd will be the lasting inspiration of joy. Joy is from our relationships, the love we share, and the care we show. Happy Holidays everyone! May your memories be joyful and your pumpkins not squishy.
It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas! We may not have had snow on the ground, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying a carriage ride this weekend. The carriage was pulled by two horses including a massive Percheron, one of the largest breeds in the world. Keeping my fingers crossed for a white Christmas! ❄️ #carriageride
My they’ve grown❤️ It feels like I went to sleep and my babies have become my dearest friends. Today has been a perfect day. Filled with sunshine, trips to the mall, the orthodontist, cousins stopping by for help with homework, someone falling into the neighbors pool, and Savanna getting asked to a dance by one of her closest friends. I looked around several times and thanked God that I get to live out these days with them. I will never fully understand what a blessing I have in these moments. But I hope to be thankful, and I hope that when they leave for homes of their own, that they knew I was thankful for the time they gave to me. #thesearethedays
Meeting stags in real life was an experience that can't be described with words. We loved feeding those, stare at those and feel the magic of Christmas holidays.
We have made lots of pictures amd kids were enjoying a lot the place.
We do it for them.
We take care of ourselves, physically ... financially ... for them. So we can be there for them. So we can explore with them. So when they want to RUN to the sunrise we say "How FAST?!!!" & can actually keep up with them!!!!
I believe age is just a number, I believe we can control our happiness & wellness, I believe in the future and find joy in the now.
How about you?!
Taking off on our next adventure in 6 days! •
I don’t know if most people would agree, but for us, traveling over the holidays makes things less stressful. We do miss things like family dinners and gatherings with friends back home, so we try to get creative while on the road. On our last trip we chose destinations where we knew there was family and we could get some special time together. This time though, family is coming to us! •
Are you traveling for the holidays? Where are you headed?

Anyone else feeling like this about the holiday homestretch? A little overwhelmed by all the festivities and preparation left? 😬
We’ve been taking a cue from Santa and making lists... Not “nice” and “naughty”, but saying “no” and “yes” to certain adventures with kids. ✨🌲✨
Saying “no” to building a gingerbread house from scratch, making crazy Pinterest crafts, hitting aaaall the holiday shows, perfection, drama and guilt. Saying “yes” to buying a gingerbread house and decorating it, making simple paper snowflakes, going to the Nutcracker and on pj walks to see lights before bed, imperfection, gratitude and joy. 💕
What’s on your list (or not!) to make the most of the season with kids?
