I've always had a fasination with shipwrecks - so when the opportunity came up to check out this one while in ancient Sparta I couldn't say no. We've loved our time here in Greece and hopefully our videos won't be too far behind now as we've just released a wrap up video on YouTube which brings us to our latest Europe adventure. Check out the link in the bio or copy paste the following https://youtu.be/U1OcDHJ2GgQ
Today marks our 8th wedding anniversary! I can’t tell you how much I love being on this journey over our anniversary! It is a true representation of how we have grown and changed as a couple. Here is to a lifetime together sharing adventures!
We love discovering unique hidden gems and Buellton, California is the epitome of hidden gem! We’ve spent a ton of time exploring the cities in Santa Barbara County, yet we never stopped in Buellton because we thought there was “nothing there”. We were so wrong! Buellton is full of fun and unique things to do, amazing food, and great wine, beer, and spirit tastings.
Our absolute favorite thing was that almost everywhere is owned and family run and the owners are super passionate about what they do. They are constantly coming up with fun and innovative ideas.
Here we are at @helixarrives tasting room, where they have a vintage trailer full of vintage wine accessories and clothing. So much fun! We’ll be sharing more from our @buelltonca #skipthebigcities tour all week.
Have you been anywhere recently that surprised you?
Just over a week ago I had the privilege to marry the most incredible man in front of some of the most beautiful people we know. Our wedding was unapologetically us. From the location, the food we ate, the ceremony, to the thrifted dinnerware, and keg stands, everything felt so right. One of the reasons we wanted such a small wedding was because each and every person there completed our vision, like a puzzle. Their personalities, styles, beliefs all created this magical environment. That’s what our wedding day was-
But it wouldn’t have been that way without all the hard work put into it. The travel, preparation, early morning set up, the teardown, food preparation, the beautiful arch and wedding cake, etc. It’s crazy to think how fast it all went by. It was like I was dreaming. I want to thank some beautiful souls for helping make our dream come true. My heart is forever full. My superhero mom and dad, my mother-in-law, my badass girl squad, my sisters, my brothers-in-laws and all our friends and family for taking the time to celebrate with us! We love you. I want to give a huge shoutout to our photographer Keeley, you were a dream to work with and you kept us grounded and true to our vision. Lastly, I want to thank all of you for the endless love and support you've given us and thinking about us on our special day!
Hey 👋🏼 We got married this February and decided that the ‘run-of-the-mill’ lifestyle wasn’t for us 🤷🏼♂️ so we got rid of 99% of our ‘things’ and decided that our new rule for life is EXPERIENCES > THINGS 💪🏼
We decided to travel full-time and EXPERIENCE the world! People rolled their eyes and made judgemental comments, but HEY, they’re the ones working their boring 9 to 5 whilst we are heading to GORGEOUS places like this... a paradise island off the southern coast of Vietnam! 🏝😉
Join us on our EPIC journey of self-improvement, chasing dreams at lightning speed and getting fit, healthy and active whilst we do it 🗺🧭 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Come with us and choose EXPERIENCES over THINGS! 🖤
our adventure began at a gorgeous and otherworldly looking lake (more from that part of the day to come), into an old growth forest, and up the side of a mountain to a sweeping overlook. but lots, and lots of stops in the forest along the way. the deep dark woods is the perfect place to say "i do" <3
~ Finally we are here, the greatest gift by mother nature and mamma mountain. Exploring the wonderful diversity of life in the borders between North Carolina and Tennessee in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. ~
Fun fact: The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is the most popular National Park in the united states of america and hosts well over ten-million annual visitors. It gets more annual visitors than the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, and Yellowstone combined.
We thought of starting a new adventure and start driving toward the great smoky mountains. We are experiencing amazing diversity of plants and animal life. The park is filled with the ancient history of mountains and wildenrness culture.
We can't wait to start the camp fire under infinite stars. Cheers.
Timing. It’s one of the most important things on a wedding day. Sometimes you just get lucky and take a shot with something cool happening in it, while other times you anticipate what’s gonna happen, see the composition you want and you wait for the exact right split second for what you are trying to capture!
We've had a few new followers over the past week so we wanted to pop on and say hi and thanks for following us!
We're Ian and Emily and are currently living full time in our van in the UK! We have plans to head to Europe too soon.
We have a self converted Renault Master which took us a year to complete (Ian did most of the work!!) We've done the mechanical and internal work ourselves for the most part and will soon be uploading videos on everything you need to know to build your very own camper.
We'll be working and traveling and sharing our journey with you. Ian's a remote working graphic designer and Emily is a yoga teacher and marketer.
We may post beautiful mountains and sunsets sometimes but we're going to try and show the real side to this lifestyle that sometimes doesn't come across on Instagram! #vanlifediaries
We have been eagerly waiting to get gear to start backpacking (had to free up some funds). So we’re a little obsessed now with researching gear and finding the best options (within budget 😉). Do you have any favorite gear or backpacking trails?
