Talk about a stud! Chato is a strong big-hearted boy with the soul of an explorer. This 85 lbs of silliness loves to investigate all the scents in the yard and report back with his findings. He'd love to have an outdoorsy partner in hiking and weekend adventures. 🐾 👣
Chato was surrendered by his owners with two other dogs -- Oso #A1636101 and a small dog, Baby (in foster care), on May 31, 2018 for landlord issues. We recently had them in the yard together and could literally see their faces light up as soon as they saw each other. It was sheer joy!
Please give this boy a share or come adopt him today! Or if you’re looking for a ready-made family, adopt Chato & Oso together! 😉

Some of my friends
I went to the vet today and found out some pretty sad news. I have a severe heart murmur. My human family is overwhelmed with sadness and not sure what to do next. If all my friends and followers could say a prayer for me it would mean a lot. They are trying everything they can to get me into the cardiologist but it’s hard to get an appointment. We need all the positive vibes sent our way.
Ralph had his BEST VET VISIT EVER today!!! He is OK, he just needed an exam, two vaccines (lyme and bivalent strain (H3N8, H3N2) canine influenza) and we found a new growth on his right axillary region (suspected lipoma that will have to be removed at some point 😫). He is so nervous at the vet, he normally won’t eat (very rare), won’t get on the exam table, cries, pants, drools, trembles, etc, while trying to hide and flee. He was administered Gabapentin and Trazodone last night and this morning to help ease his anxiety (@fearfreepets protocol), and, man, what a difference it made! After his exam, Ralph, myself and one of our favorite people, @jerseygirltlv (@badbatmanccr’s human, science based trainer and vet tech extraordinaire) did a short, super fun DS/CC session to the exam table! He did have all four feet on the table a few times, but, TWO FEET is a HUGE deal for him! HUGE! I am so proud of my dude and so fortunate to work with progressive minds who understand animal behavior and their special needs. Just like humans, they are individuals with their own experiences and views of the world. If your dog is nervous at the vet, talk to your veterinarian about options; be your dog’s advocate, always. ❤️ (PS: canned cheese is SO GROSS, but it truly has magical powers). #PolarPigAndRalph#FearFree#FinesseNotForce#VeterinaryMedicine#SeniorDog
As he watched the floating orbs fall all around him, Mr. Pickles couldn't help but wonder if this is what the Hoomans meant when they said it was time for a bubble bath?! .
