RIP little Suri. I’m sorry I couldn’t save you. Your tiny body was not meant to suffer, and I’m so glad you left this world while you slept. Suri was found abandoned outdoors with her sibling, who passed away 2 days ago. She went a long time before she was rescued and had food. Dottie took her on, but it became apparent to me that Dottie knew Suri had something wrong with her. She stopped caring for her. I tried feeding her and gave fluids, as well as other things but sometimes we can’t save them all, and that truly sucks. Every little life is one worth saving, and I tried so hard. 😢😿😔 #dottiesdots
While Dottie was eating, I managed to get weights on the babies and a quick video. So the graybie is her adopted baby. She is tiny, only 86 grams. The calico is also a girl. The two boys have orange and white coloring. One has slightly darker orange. These 3 weigh 112-120 grams. Their BAR scores are good- bright, alert, responsive. I put a radio in the room with soft music so Dottie won’t startle at every little sound. #newbornkittens#babykittens
Dottie and her little dots are just such a beautiful little family. She is pretty nervous so I have not handled the kittens just yet. Foster Dad is hooking up a camera over the bathtub so we can monitor things without disturbing her. She seems to jump at every little noise. I used my gift cards from generous followers at Petco to purchase some kitty litter for her, food for nursing mommies, and some other things. Thank you to all who have donated! My son also set up a Patreon for our foster families- it’s sort of like a subscription service that people can pledge any amount they wish on a monthly basis. If this is something you’d like to be a part of you can check it out on my website. Almost every foster I know has multiple litters right now- kitten season is still going strong. I’m glad we can help save these guys too.
Everyone, meet Dottie. Dottie was brought into the Whitley county humane society 2 days ago, and gave birth to 3 little lumps yesterday. One girl and two boys. I don’t know her history. But I do know this- someone brought in 2 abandoned kittens, two days old, to the same humane society. One passed away, and the surviving baby was put with Dottie and her own 3. And she took her as her own! 💕💕💕
I like to leave the Pet Taxi and cat carriers out for the kittens to play in/around. This does two things- it gets them comfortable being in them for less stressful rides back and forth to the animal shelter for checkups, and provides more super fun secret hiding places. 😉😸#citruskittens
An entry from the journal of Bergie: “Dear Diary, today it rained heavily here. I heard Foster Mom say ‘raining cats and dogs’. That’s silly! We had a fun day playing. So much to play with here in Kittenland with my brother and sisters. Mandie knows that it was me who let the fireflies out of the jar when we were at Summer Camp. It was because I felt sorry for them and wanted them to be free. Besides, they looked so pretty lighting up our tent. I took out my flashlight from my backpack and tried to make it light up like a firefly. Until the batteries died.” #citruskittens
