Repost @acro_demics 🎉NEW TOPIC! 🎉
Better late than never!
Sorry for being a day late guys! But the new topic for the week is here and it’s a fun one! -
🌟Advanced Walkover Variations! 👍🎉🤸♂️
Today’s variation is a twisting walkover! This is a fun one to try for all those advanced acro teachers (and students) who need a new/ fun challenge! Students should be well practiced in both front and back walkovers, have their one handed walkovers, and understand twist/ rotation. -
🌟To Perform: start set up for a standard one handed back walkover (opposite hand to working foot). Go back- as if starting a normal one handed back walkover, and begin to lift the working foot to kick over. Reach the lifted hand across your body, and place it down on the other side of the planted hand. Rotate the hips, but continue leading over with the same foot. Arch the back and finish as normal for front walkover recover. -
Woo have so much fun with this one! To add in try twisting the other way! (This means starting with the opposite hand/ foot)! OR maybe add a switch in?!! 👍👍
Have so much fun with this one in your intermediate/ advanced classes! And keep your eyes👀 peeled for more advanced variations coming your way 🔜
Comment, tag your friends, and/ or dm me! Let me see how you rock this variation, or send me your topic requests! Until next time;
Once upon a Skin Wars episode... Our team's theme was the cycles of life: birth, life, and death. (Not in order this this pic)
Painted for 6 hours. Then acrobatic presentations for the judges. Aerial silks for me ;)
This past weekend i had my first show with @jnadre and our first battle against each other. She is my circus boo 💜. You can catch us again this weekend with @arizonaburlesque at Romantasy on Saturday! I will be on strap loops, and she will be performing a super hot group number on pole.
Martinis and Castaways in Tempo! Very excited that we were able to work up to this today. I feel like a total beginner when I try tempo popping skills like these together, it's so different from doing individual Icarian Pops, feels much more like circus style Icarian Games :) These days we're looking to start to do more in-tempo popping and start to sequence some of the skills we train, it's hard, slow work, but very rewarding. Doing this reminds me of when I was a young AcroYogi and was learning to link all these poses into washing machines...which is very exciting because it means I'm just scratching the surface here!!! We have a lot of names and descriptions for the skills that we do and we as a community tend to name them as being of a certain skill level... beginner/intermediate/advanced. For myself, no matter how long I've been doing Acro, getting better and doing more advanced skills, I always try to be open to learning and to being a beginner. Makes it easier when I see all the incredible badass Acrobats that have been popping up at festivals and events and interacting with us hobbyist Acrobats...keeps me humble, and keeps reminding me that in some ways I'm still just a beginner :) @StandingAcrobatics is one of these people, so huge shoutout to him for the drops of knowledge that he's bestowed on me and we're repping his awesome AcroGrip liquid chalk in this video, because well, not slipping makes Acro way safer and Nathan has been doing a lot to make this community better, so big props to him, and very happy to support his product :) Also shoutouts to everyone that's helped us level up in Icarian Games, we love this practice so much!! As always big props to Kena @discofruitfashion for her bravery, dedication and willingness to fall hundreds of times a day and always get back up again :) <3
This flow caught my attention a while ago. It has so much grace! Created by @slavagoloubov & @andrea_acroarts - it combines inversions, counter balance and new transitions. All elements the are both challenging & intriguing.
Was happy I got to fly it with you guys!
This show is going to be super good!! Doors open at 7 tonight, show starts at 7:30.
One of the things I love most about being involved in the arts - everyday is fairly unpredictable and usually holds a few fun surprises. Today myself and some film production friends woke up at sunrise to help with the musical, acrobatic production, “Cirque Eloise: Saloon” for its cross Canada, North Bay stop. In a few weeks the troop heads to Paris for a three day run and other parts of Europe for a multi city tour there. I highly* recommend seeing this show! There are still some tickets left! #cirqueeloize#acrobats#livemusic#cirqueeloizesaloon#sewingbuttons#quebec#downtownnorthbay
#TeamWork ! Look at the amazing things we can accomplish when we work together! Went to my friend @modernjypsy show at her studio @jypsysperformingarts for their Halloween extravaganza. Not only was I impressed with the level of athleticism these ladies (and gents) displayed but I was really impressed by the level of detail and theatricality they managed to pack into such a small space. Thanks for the invite J! I had a really amazing time! You guys rock!
