You’ll always be my only guiding light ✨ .
Fix your eyes on me
And I swear you’ll see the dawn again
Don’t just sit with folded hands and become blind
Because even when there is no star insight, you’ll always be my only guiding light.
Discover some new truth - and that was always wrapped around you 💛🙏
I don't always have the most profound or inspiring things to say. I'm not so good at being vulnerable, at putting myself out there. I always thought I was an open book, but the more time I spend on social media, Instagram in particular, the more I realize I don't know myself as well as I thought. I don't know who I am or who I want to be. And that's okay. That's what this life is for- to live and figure it all out along the way. I'm a firm believer in that saying, "everything will fall into place" because if it's meant to happen, it will. Even if it takes time💓

This is just a friendly little reminder that our joints were designed for *movement*, and they need this input on the regular in order to continue working like joints! 👍🏼
. . .
Know what I mean? When we don’t move certain joints through their full range for a long time, we can lose the ability to move those joints well.
. . .
Their range of motion can decrease and they can start working less like “joints” (places where movement happens) and more like areas of stiffness that are not as amicable to easeful movement.
. . .
The moral of the story is for us to use our joints through their full ranges of motion as regularly as possible!
. . .
Also, do you guys know the amazing @carrieowerko, whom I’ve quoted here? 😍
. . .
She is a dynamic and super smart senior teacher of Iyengar yoga who is also very up-to-date with modern movement science. I haven’t practiced with her in person yet, but my impression is that she does a beautiful job weaving the traditional Iyengar practice with insights from current science, and her students love her!
. . .
If you don’t follow her, I’d highly recommend doing so, because she shares awesome teaching tidbits all the time, and I love them!
. . .
And here’s to our amazing and well-designed joints working like joints, because we’ve treated them well with regular, frequent, and excellent movement! 😉 💙
💕Thankful to have shared my yoga journey with this delightful coach 🧘🏼♀️ @amelia.b.ross from 🔆 @spectrumyogaperth

@Regran_ed from @fernandayoga - “Sua energia apresenta você antes de você dizer uma palavra.”
“Your energy introduces you before you say even a word.”
I made a list of “I will” statements
most of them were heavy & personal growth/mental health related
but this is my superficial one
I will flip grip in dancer pose
and then like many things
I wished it to come true
but have not worked on it
so with 41 days left in 2018
maybe I’ll try to sneak this in
and actually practice
here is today & one year ago✨
Just as treasures are uncovered from the earth, so virtue appears from good deeds, and wisdom appears from a pure and peaceful mind. To walk safely through the maze of human life, one needs the light of wisdom and the guidance of virtue.
Why are we so afraid of being seen for who we actually are? Why are we so afraid of what other people might think of us? Why are we so afraid of letting people see us shake, stumble, be confused & make mistakes and on the flip side Why do we try & play it cool when we are over the moon ecstatic about something? .
I've been playing with my 3 year old niece a lot lately & she's been reminding me just how important it is to play, fall, learn, get up & try again and not give a damn about what anyone else says in the meantime.
A 3 year old dances when they feel like dancing, they smile & laugh for no reason other than they are just so happy to be around you, there's no facade, just them in their own world, doing what they want to be doing, without them even realizing it they are just living perfectly in the moment. They just keep trying something until they learn how to do it. We all learn to walk by first falling many many times right? I think we forget sometimes that the process of learning something new & the process of growing involves first & foremost.... trying.
How is it that we lose so much of this as we grow? We lose all of these amazing qualities and then gain the opposite ~ we latch onto fear, justification, ego, jealousy & pride. We can become so worried about our image & what others think of us we forget to live out our own lives. .
Anyways, Moral of the story ~ play & learn like a 3 year old lol. Try something new from time to time with no fear, no attachment to what others may think of you for doing it.
Short clip from a couple of days ago @enyogaperth
As if moving into a new place isn’t enough stress I did it right before the holiday! Corititrol has been such a fabulous help! Getting a good night sleep and not be so stressed out. Of course doing yoga and adding this Corititrol things are looking good 🤩 what a blessing 😁
Day 3 #embraceyourchakra Solar Plexus! 📷: @pedro.a.ochoa ~
Solar plexus chakra or Manipura chakra is the energy space of your personal identity, gut feelings, discipline, and empowerment located in the stomach.
A mantra I use working with solar plexus chakra is, ”I am enough.” Today was one of those days I worked very hard on that mantra. Especially as a teacher. It’s easy to doubt yourself. Today before my classes I did a quick meditation where to every fear my mind tried to hold on to, I met it with the affirmation, ”I am enough.” ”What if I don’t serve them to the best of my ability today?” ”I am enough.” ”What if I get word jumble on my cues, or blank on parts of my sequence?!” ”I am enough.” ”What if I’m not enough.” ”I AM enough 🙏🏾” Doing this before my class allows me to be open to what the student has to offer to teach me. What the universe is trying to teach me in that moment about the spirit if yoga. It also allows me to put my ego on the backburner. After all ego doesn't just make you think you’re the best, it also makes you think and feel like you’re the worst. So don’t let it be sneaky! I am enough, I am enough, I am enough 🙏🏾☺️ Hosts
