#storytime - What my knee injury taught me about discipline and sticking to the plan 👉
At the end of 2014, my knees started to hurt. Too much stress, not enough strength. Perfect equation for PAIN.
After waiting for a week or two, I realized that the pain wasn’t going to go away on its own. So I did what I always do when I want to accomplish something: Make a plan.
I visited 10 different physical therapists before I found the one. She was THE expert.
Her words were clear: Your injury is finicky. You need to stick to the plan otherwise you are not going to get better. But my rehabilitation plan not only had physical exercises. I had to stand up every 30 min and walk slowly for 5 min. That would help the fluids inside my knee to become thicker and speed up healing. I also had a walking plan and a meal plan. And of course, a mindset plan to help me get through being in pain.
The result? My body healed and now I'm stronger than ever. And I also learned a few lessons along the way... Lesson #1 - You need discipline to achieve your goals. The more ambitious the goal, the more discipline you need. I didn’t skip a single exercise for 1.5 years. My friends were telling me that I was obsessed. I call it discipline.
Lesson #2 - We are capable of achieving anything we want. We just have to stick to the plan and be patient. In injury, like in business, there is no overnight success. You have to work your ass off if you want to see results.
Lesson #3 - One reason why some people may not reach their goals is because they are not consistent enough. They try for a couple of months and because it doesn’t work, the abandon the mission. Injuries and business work in a similar way. Progress is NOT linear and you cannot abandon your mission just because you had a setback.

They say being an actor is like running a small business..every day i strive to keep my business improving, moving forward and it can be so hard to keep motivated and be constantly inspired. We all find inspiration from different things, sometimes these things are stories, places, songs, but often people. For me, that person is @motherhoodinhollywood . She inspires me every day with how hard she works, how ambitious and ferocious she is. She appears fearless as she has carved her own path in this industry, she does the work and is blazing her path every single day. She motivates me to get off my butt and kick down doors.

Es gibt für gewisse Dinge keinen Plan B/C/D...! Halte dich an dein 💖WARUM💖-fokussiere deinen Weg und bleib verdammt nochmal dran!

It takes discipline. .
It takes making the difficult choices.
