I feel like the Grinch on Christmas Day! My heart has grown three sizes for Burgundy! This @maisonjosephdrouhin #charmeschambertin took an hour to express itself, but when it opened up it was well worth the wait!
NEWS FLASH: Drinking is NOT an accessory to motherhood!
Problem drinking is on the rise and this culture of wine o'clock madness sadness me. There's so much pressure in parenthood you'd think we'd promote healthier solutions than drinking life's stressors away.
Motherhood is such an amazing gift. My children are my reason to stay sober, not my excuse! I'm so grateful after a 5 year relapse I made it back. Not everyone does. I've spent the past 3 years sober and healing from the inside out. For all you mamas out there, be gentle with yourself. Stop the comparison game. Find pockets of time in your day to fill your cup. If were not doing well, we can't be there for those we love. When you find yourself feeling disconnected, anxious, exhausted, and stressed, don't impulsively react. The solution is NOT at the bottom of the bottle. Use your recovery tools, reach out to your support, and remember ✨why✨ your on this journey.
I'm mothering sober and damn proud of it ✌🏼💕 #momswhodrinkwine

We love this wine and we are very excited that you can try it too. Exceptional quality, it is like drinking liquid gold, smooth and velvety in texture. Think honey, meadow, forest flowers, sunset. Actually, the perfect sunset wine!
About the winemaker:
Julien Peyras is an incredibly talented winemaker working in the Languedoc near the village of Paulhan which lies just a short drive north-east of Beziers.
With great respect for nature and the ecosystems that exist within his vineyards, Julien worked closely with the Bellahsen family (of Domaine de Fontedicto) to learn how best to naturally farm his vines. Organically farming 8ha of hillside vineyards overlooking the village of Aspiran in Languedoc-Roussillon, Julien grows Cinsault, Carignan, Grenache, Syrah, Clairette, Grenache Blanc and Roussanne on terraces of clay and limestone.
Committed to making natural wines, Julien works hard to transmit the terroir of his 40+ year old vines. Plowing between rows, he maintains his soils depending on the weather, the moon, his instinct and the vineyard’s vegetative growth. “We spend a lot of time in our vineyards to observe, listen and feel for a better understanding of their needs,” he writes, yielding wines that are intensely pure and clean
His vines are planted on terraces that are strewn with rocks and clay from the Villefranchian epoch which was the most recent epoch of the Tertiary period, just before the start of the Quaternary period.
And there is an added bonus of zero added sulphur! Julien is a member of the small, but very active and dedicated, S.A.I.N.S. group t( Les Vins S.A.I.N.S. stands for Les Vins Sans Intrant Ni Sulphites) that are committed to using no sulphur at all during the winemaking process. He is also a member of the Association des Vins Naturels.
Love of the orange side 🥂😂
Vitovska is the native Carso grape. Always existed, it represents tradition. Characterized by a thick peel able to withstand the Bora's lashes, it also has notable acidity and great versatility depending on how it is interpreted in the cellar.
The color is golden yellow tending to orange,
Fruity aroma of apricot and mineral with notes of cooked fruit and salt. On the palate, very natural and continuous, it reveals the fineness of the stroke and beautiful fluidity, and it closes sapid but refreshing.
Destemming, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and maceration on the skins in open vats with different punching down every day and malolactic fermentation. Without filtrations.
Aging in medium and large Slavonian oak barrels for 24 months.
Bottling without filtration and no stabilization and two years of aging in bottle.
Benjamin Zidarich decides to focus on local varieties (Vitovska, Terrano, Malvasia and Ribolla Gialla). From now on the imperative is no recourse to chemistry in order to express wines of the territory without any interference and compromise. Biodynamic viticulture, maceration on the skins to transfer the territory to the wine and the characteristics of the grapes and spontaneous fermentation with open vats.
It develops a style of its own even in the wake of tradition. The macerations are prolonged up to 14 days for mineral wines with density and weight that would make you think of challenging gradations; instead they are surprising for their lightness and for an extremely delicate tannic component.
