Becoming a mum changes you. Every aspect of your life changes whether you want it to or not. Many of us try to find ourselves again but I think it is important to embrace the changes that have happened and try to find the new you. A little bit of old and a little bit of new... Sometimes we get so bogged down about talking about the kids that sometimes we just want to scream and forget all about it / them!! And then of course, we feel guilty... I have recently discovered @babbletalks. Babble Talks offer monthly daytime events with guest speakers giving talks on intellectual topics for parents and carers with babies under 1 year old. Their strapline is 'Reclaim your brain... Bring your baby!'
The best of both worlds!
The lovely Ruth started it earlier this year in response to her realisation that there aren't many activities for you to do while on parental leave that are focused on your mind. Having a baby can be overwhelming and so much changes, so it's important that there's also something that helps parents connect with their own sense of self, their interests, and also the events help parents connect over more than their babies and have broader conversations!
They are running an event next Month in Tooting and then next year, are launching a new and exciting venue...watch this space.
So bringing it back to the 'new me' & embracing change, share with us today what you are now embracing as part of the new you.
Long serving client Vicky changing things up a bit with some Olympic Lifting yesterday. Apart from that 3rd rep on the second video (🙄) I think she did ok for a first timer!
It’s easy for people to stick with the same style of training because it suits them but seeing someone try new skills and smash them from the start can only be a good thing!
Great effort as always @vickymorris25 , good luck all kinds of aching today - something else for you to moan about!! 😉

Hit up @oki_wimbledon new takeaway after a stressful morning on Tuesday. Chicken Teriyaki with sticky rice was the order of the day. Have been to the restaurant before and wasn't too gassed on it, but the teriyaki was delish. Rice was good also. One criticism I have is the rice stuck to the container (and was impossible to get off). This put a slight dampener on the dish. Teething problems only, and I predict that this place will draw in quite the lunch time audience in Wimbledon. Good work. #oki#wimbledon#japanese#japanesecuisine#rice#teriyakichicken#foodie#foodblog#blogger#asian#persuasion#chicken
