Mt Rainier in all her (almost) glory.. because she was most covered in clouds our entire time spent there. But, oh my, is she a beauty🏔 also, dreaming of the day that we own our own VW Eurovan, and can travel all over with our littles.
EL Day 56 & 57: 20.9.18.
HUGE achievement! Around 750 miles, and I’m absolutely chuffed to let you know that I’ve just crossed out of the Arctic Circle!
Which means I’ve walked the entire length of the Arctic Circle region of mainland Europe from its most northern to southern point!
To mark the occasion, I rowed across a lake on the boundary of the arctic circle, not once, but three times. The rowing boat system means that there always has to be a boat on each side of the lake, and, typically, there was one boat on my side, and three on the other. So I had to tow one back before rowing back across again. Oh, and it’s always worrying when you have to empty a boat of water before relying on it to get you across a large lake in strong winds. I got blown off course a couple hundred metres and it’s safe to say team GB won’t be calling me up anytime soon. 🚣♂️🛶

No doubt there's a lot of monastery here in Ladakh that you can explore. I was sleeping half of the way back to Leh the other day. And suddenly awake by this view.
