A goal should scare the shit out of you. If it doesn’t then it isn’t big enough! Taking on the PRNP scares the living bajeebuz out of me but the grace and grit of each of these ladies will get us through. #trektraining#womancrushwednesday
Beautiful park to walk around on the hiking trails after viewing the butterflies. I recommend bringing binoculars and if you want to take good pics a good camera lens is a must. So much fun seeing the monarchs in the trees 🦋🦋🦋! #butterflies#westcoasttrail#travelblogger#dec2018
West Coast Trail Darling Black Bear
Keep the wild in wildlife. Viewed this little black bear between Darling River and Michigan Creek. He followed along the beach logs as we hiked the tidal flats.

Looking back on this year, I would say that going on a 7 day backpack trip on the West Coast trail was one of my favourite memories. Carrying a 35 lb pack thru slippery logs, boulders, up tons of ladders and running out of food .... maybe my memory has faded since June... I am not sure what adventures lies ahead but I never want to run out of food again. Thanks to @alexkluth for always carrying extra food or I would have not made it. #adventure#westcoasttrail#backpacking

I just found these old photos that I took after the suspension bridge across the Pachena River was torn down in a storm. My great-grandfather helped build it originally.
The new trail from Pachena into Bamfield is amazing and I’m so happy that it’s there. But I do miss the days of being trapped in the middle of this bridge while my brother (@cpmbakers) and older cousins jumped in either end!
Luckily, I have a beautiful sugar bowl (made by Katherine Jennings) from my Grandma Logan with the bridge painted in it as a keepsake. #growingupbamfield
